I heard from my LBS (the leading Cervelo Dealer in the region).  That Cervelo is planning to debut the new P4 during the Olympic Time Trials.  Fabian Cancellara is supposed to be riding it.  The dealer I know says he's seen it, but can't talk about it - confidential per Cervelo...

Anyone know anything different/more?

Other than Rumor, not much.

I am going to an event at the LBS (A Cervelo Dealer) on Thursday and I will make a point to ask around and see if anyone knows anything

Good point

I am assuming of course that a "Debut" at the TT is still just a rumor at this point.

The difference is that was a rumor.  The facts are that every major Cervelo dealer has had soem insight and have been told to expect something at the Olympics.

They debuted a prototype C3 road bike already, so one can fully expect the TT bike to also be unveiled.

The reality is that there will probably not be that many significant changes other than some sort of bayonet fork design like the Felt and the prototype Giant that Team Columbia used in the Tour.  Seems to be the direction the big designers are going right now.

I may be wrong, but I think that there is 0% chance that the P4C will be unveiled for the TT.

The guys at Cervelo have said that they will not have a new bike until they can have a substanial improvement in aerodynamics over the P3C.  Now, if they have achieved this and are able to put it under an athlete at the Olympics, I suspect that they would have done everything in their power to have it under Sastre for the final TT at the TdF (even a prototype given all the speculation about how hard it would have been for Sastre to stay in front of Evans).

As I said, they DID debut the new prototype road bike for all the CSC riders (and women team riders) and they even talked about it in the e-mail they sent out this morning (e-mail list).  Why would they not also debut the new TT design and why even tell all their top retailers to expect something and not to not talk about it??

IF there were a P4, it would have been debuted at the TdF not the Olympics. The Olympic bike photos leaked over at slowtwitch what a month ago?

IF there were a P4 I am pretty sure that there would have been some photo from somewhere in the world that would have been leaked out and before you say that its under wraps, I seriously doubt that Cervelo has enough cash to keep that under the type of secrecy needed to get the bike all the way around the world, get whomever fitted on it and tested without some photographer somewhere snapping something and sending it out to ST, Velonews or any other cycling forum...

I have been wrong in the past but my money is that it will not there.

Yes but how far from completion is it. I am with those that think they would have pushed for it at the Tour but maybe it just wasn't possible.

I don't see it. If it was close enough to be ready for the Olympics, I've got to believe they could have got it under a rider for the tour.

Not tomorrow.

Look for the P4 to be a next year model, with a bigger frame that includes cheetah-like hydration setup. Why have cages if the reservoir can be internal, made of carbon, be a cervelo product, and provide a pseudo-fairing?

I called my shot. Let's see if I'm right.

As Cervelo keeps doing further research on aerodynamics, a successor to the P3 is likely to come about at some time but who knows when that will be!?!  When they do come out with a P4, it will not be a modified P3 but a whole new machine from the ground up.  So far the only positive new bike to be introduced for the Olympics is the S3 road bike.  It is part of the Soloist line and " features new chainstays & seatstays, which are both more aerodynamic and offer more vertical compliance ... it also features a new Internal CableStop cable routing system."

I asked a Cervelo/Kuota/QRoo dealer on Saturday what was happening with pricing on the bike lines because I've heard huge increases were coming.  He told me that the P2C was going up $200 or so, the P3 was staying the same, and that there was a new bike coming in at the higher price point.  I would assume we will see a new one fairly soon.
