Just curious as to how many folks sit in either T1 or T2 during a tri.

From the "bucket" thread I realize some folks feel exceptionally strongly about this - so let's keep it civil, OK?    No need for an angry debate!

Two thumbs down the back of the heel gets it out as well.

Quick hijack...

If another competitor pulls it off for you, is it "recieving outside aid"?  (if it's not race provided "wetsuit strippers"?)

End hijcak

I've never had to sit down to get my wetsuit off ( that's just dumb ), but I usually do have to sit to get my socks on (working on it)

I fell over once doing that! Still dizzy from the swim. But that's usually what I do, I don't sit down.

Well, there you have it. Socks are dumb. Think about the valuable seconds you could spare if you went without socks. This is a race you know?

At one of my races last summer I was struggling to get my wetsuit off.  An old guy (>80) with a cane was in the transition area (not sure why) and came over to ask me if I needed help.  I declined, but thought I must have really looked bad. I didn't want to sit down because the whole transition area was covered with goose poop everywhere you walked.   (We have a bit of an over population of Canada geese around here)

Don't judge a book (or socks) by its cover. I've seen the test scores for those socks - not good.

I didn't sit down during my first tri, but my during my 2nd one my wetsuit was stuck so I sat down and yanked it off.  I'm pretty sure I would have fallen over if I attempted to get the suit off while standing up.

DOH!  I thought so!  Good thing they didn't catch my illegal activity....

Actually, it happened so fast I couldn't have stopped it.  I was struggling with my suit on my ankle, I mean STRUGGLING.  Another racer quickly grabbed it and yanked it off for me.  Thanks goodness, I could have been there for another 15-30 seconds messing with it for sure....

How about fall down? I currently need socks for ride/run and after the swim in T1 there are times I'm not rock steady.....

That's why I sit in transitions - it's that or fall down.  At least I can maintain the illusion that I'm in control if I choose to sit rather than tipping over and faceplanting into the pavement...
