It's almost Fall, time for College Football.  I saw the show on HBO.  So, who do you root for....As a youngun I loved the Blue and Maize, but have since become more of a Buckeye fan...

Feel free to put some input into this thread of highlights, stories, jokes ect.ect.    Keeping this on these two teams.

I'd vote Michigan because I almost went to school there and because I hate Jim Tressel and I hate how OSU keeps getting into the championship game, when they play zero hard opponents and then get destroyed. The last few years the whole of the Big 10 has been over rated.

Yikes...have been a Blue fan since I can remember....and I can say one thing for sure, and I think all who root for the acorns from columbus can agree...there aren't any of us from either side who 'used to root' for one 'and since have become more' of a fan of the other...this is a with us or agin' us kind of rivalry...kind of like the iron bowl down south, or those sophisticates at the worlds largest outdoor cocktail party in jacksonville...geesh, you pac-10'ers have a lot to learn about football...

Michigan is my second favorite Big Ten team (I'm a Purdue grad).  Had some very memorable road trips to Ann Arbor back in the early 70's to see the Boilers play the Wolverines.  My Boilermakers got pounded every time but Ann Arbor was a great party town.  The last time we went we "lost" one of my fraternity brothers - he didn't show up back in Lafayette until the following Tuesday...

More recently, my daughter Katie is good friends with David Baas, the All-American guard/center who played at Michigan and is now with the 49ers.  Katie went to UF with David's girlfriend (now wife) Liz and was a bridesmaid in their wedding here in Sarasota two years ago.  David gave Katie an autographed Michigan helmet a couple of years ago for her birthday.  She had it in her office at work for a while but got nervous about one of her co-workers ripping it off, so now it's on a shelf in her apartment.

Buckeyes... Went to Ohio University... yes, I grew up in Columbus. I am hopeful to go to my first game in 'Shoe this year, ever.

Hate the OSU, the Big Ten, or Jim Tressel.... it doesn't matter... Thow all your preconceptions out the window... Every year this is one of the great games of the season. It is one of the greatest rivalries in the game.

Married to a Wolverine. Michigan in the interest of marital harmony...although it was fun watching the UM/Appalachian State game in a Michigan fan-bar last year.

GO IOWA HAWKEYES!

Michigan. Better academics, and at least they can beat the SEC in their bowl games...unlike certain other Big 10 schools... ;-)

Doesn't UM play the same schedule as OSU?  Heck they played and lost to a 1AA school last  year.

I do agree thought that Ohio State has been extremely fortunate the last few years and this just proves they need a playoff system.  But I did live in Ohio for 10 years and lived on a stree named after Jim Tressels father for 3 years in College as his dad coached there so I am more loyal to them then UofM but I am still a PSU fan.

Michigan of course.  I bleed maize and blue and have for as long as I could remember.  When I declared that Michigan was the only college I was interested in attending, nobody was the least bit surprised.   I love the rivalry, although we've been at the losing end of it lately.  But it's a fun one and I remember fun days in the Big House (we won while I was there - maybe I should go back...) whooping on some Buckeye butt, trash talking, celebrating and road tripping.  Michigan has a great football tradition and Saturdays in Ann Arbor are ridiculous - even if you don't like football you would have gotten caught up in the madness.  The OSU game is always the last game of the season and really - it's the only game that we care about and that counts.  Losing at anytime sucks, but losing to Ohio State is like putting a dagger in.  It's definitely a great rivalry and one that will continue forever.  GO BLUE!!!!!!!!

Man, we could start a whole seperate thread about the need for a playoff system!  But even more I wish the Big Ten would have a playoff system.  The Big Ten ends way before everyone else does - we have plenty of time to do a playoff between the top 4 teams and be done with it.  The other divisions find time to do it this way, I wish we would too.  Would it be different than the way we do it now?  Who knows.  But it sure would be fun to watch!  Plus I think we do our teams no favors by having them sit for like 50 days before the big bowls.

Grew up in Ohio - graduated undergrad from OSU in '92 and Law School in '95.

As an added bonus, my wife is an Appalachian State alum - last year was a good year.

I'll bleed maize & blue till the day I die, though I did go to school in Ohio (though not OSU - the portal to hell is in Columbus).

Gotta give respect to the Buckeyes, though. As much as I hate Jim Tressel, he's a d@mn good coach. Even if he's the Big 10's Peyton Manning.

Biggest rivalry in sports. Period.

I'd like to point out that the Big Ten teams are basically always the AWAY team.

It will never happen, but I'd love to see the SEC or Pack Ten play in the midwest in January.  Bring LSU to Cleveland to play OSU and see what happens!!

I am not a MI or OH fan at all. I went to another big 10 school... I think OH will be the big 10 school to beat.

Same thing that's happened the past two years, or whenever they play someone of quality outside the "Big" Ten.

More likely "Jawja" than LSU. The players that Saban recruited for LSu are all but a distant memory for LSU. But that would be intretsing to watch...

Go Bucks!

I have awesome tickets in November to one of the greatest rivalries all time. Although I might sell them and party outside with the hundreds of thousands of fans out there.

Say what you want about either school but they have some of the most dedicated fans in all of college football. Oh and MUCK FICHIGAN.

Good thing we haven't had any good recruiting classes to replace those players.

Oh wait....
