Subject: RE: Which Discipline For Weight LossRowing! Sometimes I wish I could find that article again, a teammate in college had a subscription to, I think, Mens Health. it was in 2003 I think and in doing research it found that rowing burns the most calories. It is also non impact, and utilizes the whole body (legs mostly, arms, shoulders back core, chest etc... ) The only things I think that might burn more calories is cross country skiing but not sure on that part. Anyway in answer to your actual question a good combination of all three disciplines is your best bet. Your body will not settle into one set metabolic rythm that way, easier to avoid injury, and you wont get as bored. Also throw in some good core workouts 2-3 times a week and some healthy eating habits and you can start loosing weight in a healthy manner. Good Luck (speaking of which I need to hop back on the weightloss bandwagon! ) |
