Hello

Today my wife and I adopted  Buddy a 12.5 pound male Yorke.  Buddy was saved from a puppy mill and then saved a second time from a family who did not take care of him.  So today we made him part of our family.   You can from the photo that he has been mistreated in the past because he only has one eye.

So if you have the ability to save a dog or cat please do so.  If you can not adopt a pet make a donation to your local pet shelter.

Buddy  is now my new best buddy.

Kevin

Nice.  I am sure he'll spoil you rotten with all that love and attention.  Both my dogs (and both cats) are from a shelter.

There is NO better story than hearing of someone adopting from a shelter.  Congratulations to you and your wife on your beautiful new addition to the family, and thank you for supporting doggie shelters!

DH and I often talk about how, when I graduate law school, we'll donate as much as we can to the ASPCA.  I've always found animals to be a worthy cause because, after all, they can't help themselves and so much of their suffering comes from people.

This post makes me all warm and fuzzy inside though!

We adopted from a rescue group today too!  We got a black lab, and his name is Dexter.  He is house trained already and just a great dog.  It's so hard to understand how anyone could have given him up.  We're happy to have found him though!

Puppy mills.  The Blight on Society.    Ostrisize the people that are involved in them.

And Super Kudos to you Kevin and your family for caring and adopting such a cutie.

What a cutie!  Congrats on the new addition.  There's a special place in heaven for those who take care of animals.  And a special place in he11 for those who abuse them.  At least that's the way I think it should be.

Big thumbs up to all of those who rescue animals. My cat was found by some coworkers hanging by the dumpster at work. A little milk and some pulled pork and she has been my best buddy for 4 years now. Rescue animals are hands down the most appreciative and loving pets. My brother has a dog who was obviously abused by a previous owner, she ducks her head and tucks her tail when you approach her, but she is the best dog ever. She's always happy to see you, never barks, follows you around and is great with his kids.

I got both my kitties from STAR shelter.... (SECOND TIME AROUND)...

They were in cages right next to each other. I only wanted one cat... came out with two! Surprised

I wanted to update with a pic of Dexter.  I know I'm biased, but how cute is he?  As you can see, he's already making himself at home.

One of my favorite topics!!!!

I have three rescue dogs.

Wyatt a seven year old retired racing greyhound

Joey a two year old German Short Hair Pointer

Petey a twelve year old Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix

I have been adopting rescue dogs since 1986 and have had the pleasure of being blessed with a total of eight dogs.   Right now three is the limit - although I would love to adopt them all!!!

Please think about rescue before you buy from a breeder.  There are so many great dogs out there that need loving homes!!!!!

Wyatt - isn't he handsome?

Petey.  This is Whizzzzz's boyfriend.

New Parka while eating another dog's food!
