Subject: RE: Race clothing for Half IronmanThere was another post on this same topic a few days ago...short answer is it's up to you...but I don't think "most" change; some do, but my observations is most do not...certainly not anyone looking to turn in a top time. Personally, I find my tri shorts or tri suit to be more comfortable with less chafing than running shorts. Also, taking time to change is just wasting time, in my opinion....even a "quick change" will cost you at least 60 seconds, if not more depending upon changing tent location and congestion. If you are less concerned about time and more comfortable changing, then by all means do it. I apply Body Glide to all of my "areas" before a race and before any run longer than a few miles. Between that and insuring you have high quality, well fitting race clothes, you should have no comfort issues. (You should also do some training runs and brick workouts in your race gear so race day is not the first time you wear it.) |
