I know it's wrong on so many levels but I just treated myself to lamb over rice from a street vendor. As a native NY'er I should know better but it's the only place you can get lunch for under $5 (and besides it's my birthday)!

I keep telling myself it's better than a dirty water dog.

What/where do you eat that you shouldn't?

I spent 3 months eating food prepared by street vendors in Malaysia and Thailand. The only time I got sick was when I ate "western" food in a "western" restaurant.

I learned my lesson, only eat what and where the locals are eating.

There are many street vendors around my building. My favorite is the Thai one.  They have the best Panang Gai - chicken cooked in coconut milk.  It's so bad for me, but every once in awhile, I have it.

Ice cream.  I can't stop eating ice cream.

Once a week, if I do all my scheduled workouts, I allow myself to get a Bagel Max: toasted bagel, scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon.  Greasy and filling and heavenly.  I wash it down with a small mocha with extra chocolate and whipped cream.  Then I don't eat again for about 8 hours as my body tries to figure out what to do with all that.

Not all NY'ers are still  degenerates!   And since Rudy moved the hookers from  Times Square I wouldn't know where to find them anyway.

Hmmmm, speaking of things one shouldn't eat...

I did too.  All depends on how fresh it is.  In all honesty, can't say how many times I've seen road kill, of the wild game variety, that I haven't given it a second look/consideration.

Funny, you don't look Cajun...

Speaking about road kill:

Boudreaux and Thibodeaux had a camp down there in Grand Chenier, they would go stay at da camp every Saturday night.

Boudreaux would leave his house at around noon. Everytime he passed a dead armadillo on the way to the camp, he would stop and draw a big orange circle around it.

Thibodeaux would leave his house around 4pm. Every dead armadillo he came upon without an orange circle made it into that night's gumbo.

Nothing like fresh meat!

No, but my babies are half Cajun...the good half of course.  Momma is the former Ms. Broussard from Thibodaux, not to be confused with the former Ms. Thibodaux from Broussard.

Well, that explains the road kill cravings.

My wife was a Broussard too, not sure where she's from, don't think she knows either, but I met her when we were both going to school (Nicholls) in Thibodaux. Don't know any Thibodeauxs offhand, but Broussard is about three miles up the road from where I am now.
