I've had a chicken on the smoker since 4.....just waiting for the crew to come home. My dog wishes she could smoke meat. She outgrew milk at 8 weeks. Edited by Left Brain 2014-05-29 8:07 PM |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I drink mine with heavy cream. It's delicious, it doesn't stay in the cup more than 10 mins and it's gone. Incidentally heavy cream has barely any lactose as it has such a high fat percentage. Love it. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Regular coffee - never milk or sugar. If it doesn't taste good black, its not worth drinking (see Tim Horton's, Starbucks, etc). Espresso - sometimes I will have a double espresso but others I will have a macchiato, cappuccino or latte depending on how I'm feeling. These must be consumed while hot and typically before the milk markings on the top disappear. A pretty good pour from a couple of days ago: ![]() Shane |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Want one now! (Except that, oops, it's 8:30 PM and I'm getting up early to run.) I can't stand milk in normal American coffee--makes it too weak, as if it wasn't already. Occasionally I'll put cream in really strong black coffee. My dad always drank it that way and have to admit, I've copied his coffee habits since maybe age 5 or 6 whenever I could get away with it! I also put a little cream in iced black Vietnamese coffee (café da) with no sugar--that is a wickedly good drink. Kind of my invention--I know how to explain it in Vietnamese at cafés so they give it to me like that,. I can drink hot milk, so sometimes I get a latte or cappuccino, mainly in Oregon as it's too hot to enjoy here most of the time. Occasionally I have added a little milk to our coffee at school (local staff makes it, so it can be really, really strong sometimes) but once it cools down, it's disgusting--I dump it if I haven't finished it hot. |

There are several questions here. I normally drink my coffee straight-up black (no milk/cream or sugar). I will drink coffee that has been polluted with sugar, cream, or milk, but it isn't my preference. How long would I consider coffee with milk "safe" to drink? Dunno...I'l drink a cup of milk that has been out for several hours as long as it isn't soured. I'm unlikely to drink room-temperature coffee nor am I inclined to re-heat coffee and that is the bigger factor in pouring it out rather than a dollop of milk might be soured. Cake frosting may have a couple tablespoons of milk but seems to be OK even after sitting out for several days. |

If I put any dairy in my coffee it comes straight from the fridge and is consumed within 15 minutes. The only weirdness I've seen related to your comment is what others pointed out as the creamer wtih addidives that doesn't need refrigeration. Is that what you're referring to? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I drink my coffee with creamer. Albeit it is flavored creamer. I have a bad habit of sitting it down and forgetting where I left it so that when I do fins it is is lukewarm. After the first time of re-locating it I will warm it up in the microwave but after that I just get a new cup. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Creamer is just too scary. I won't put anything into me that I can't pronounce (unless, maybe, I'm eating in France). There is this really weird stuff in Laos that comes in a can like condensed milk (which Vietnamese add to coffee), but it's not condensed milk, it's condensed non-dairy creamer. One time I put some into really strong coffee at breakfast, thinking it was milk, and it just kept mixing in but not making it less strong or much lighter. Weird. Tasted horrible. I ended up ditching it and ordering another coffee, with hot (actual) milk on the side. (Thankfully due to the French influence in Laos they understand café au lait.) |

Sometimes I drink 3/4 of a cup with milk. Then I put it down and my ADD takes me elsewhere and I find my 8 am coffee at noon. Or I drink one in the car, go in for a 2 hour meeting, and come back out to half of a venti. And I drink it without hesitation. In contrast, a cup of milk left out for 30 minutes would probably get poured down the drain. |

The Vietnamese coffee I have had (which is delicious, BTW) was made with sweetened condensed milk...but it is a sugar bomb. Kind of hard to get straight condensed milk in the US. I think if I had that, I'd be okay with revisiting the coffee after an expanded period of time...but milk/cream/what have you - if it's not consumed within 15-30 minutes, it is dead to me. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I did the "within 30 minutes" option, but only because 99.9% of the time I drink my coffee black. However, on the rare occasion when I need to drink it fairly quickly (meeting, workout, whatever..) I'll throw a dash of skim milk in it to cool it down. |
