Hello BC! Do you have room to commit another foreigner? I'm signed up and paid too.

(I actually went to high school in south eastern BC, way back when.)

Welcome aboard!  Congrats on signing up for next year!  I saw tha toyu were at the G.W.N. 1/2.  My buddy and his brother in law had their bikes smashed in a car accident the night before in that race.  Other than that looks like you're all set for next year!

I am not in because I am just starting but was wondering if it is True that the Penticton Iron Man is no Longer IronMan Canada. I heard that Toronto was doing an IM that would be known as IMC is this true?

Just heard it at the running store I run out of. People that do triathlons were talking about it that it was getting to big for Penticton to hold so they were going to have it in Toronto. I hope it is untrue that is why I asked here. I got to watch IronMan in Penticton in 86 as a kid it was great following everyone. As I kid I was in my glory picking up all those water bottles they threw away.

There is no truth to this, they will not change this race venue. Too much history.

Good I am hoping to get back up there this year and see some friends from when I lived in Kelowna then come through Peachland and Summerland and hopefully catch the race.

"Just" a half, eh?!
Ironman = 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run, add em up you get 140.6
Half Ironman (aka Ironman 70.3) = 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run, add em up you get 70.3

The Ironman 70.3's are put on my NA Sports, the same company that does the official Ironman events. There are other half irons or ironman distance races out there but only some are officially "Ironman" or "Ironman 70.3". It doesn't make them any different other than the name and the company that runs them.

That is what I thought because I was adding up the distances but wasn't sure so thought I would ask and show that I don't know much YET rather then say something wrong and prove it. Kinda like the saying "Let people think you are an idiot, don't open your mouth and prove it to them"
