Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois Not tri related at all but it's still sinking in for me. So, i don't know if you guys saw about the crazy thing that happened in my hometown yesterday - http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/terror-threat-arrest-rcmp-1.3715969 My parents live just down the road and thankfully were far enough away that they were not impacted but it's hit the whole town pretty hard. The guy wasn't from our town but was working at the same company as my Dad but in another location. This seems to be very serious - what a crazy world sometimes ... |

Master 10208 Northern IL | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois Originally posted by jmkizer Question for the group: Why or why would someone use the hand dryer (one of the high velocity ones) to dry your swim fins Every. Single. Time. It's like 95 degrees out. They will dry on their own. HONEST! P.S. The sound of hand dryers just grates on my ears. P.P.S. Hand driers are also not meant for (1) drying hair or (2) drying swimsuits. Hope it's not so much for the fins themselves, but for wherever they're going. They do tend to be made from a non-absorbent material though may not shed all drops immediately. Although that brings to question other swim gear. |

Fine one night and gone less than 24 hours later. After nearly 11 years it has left a fairly gaping whole for us. Stacey, I'm so very sorry to hear about Abbi. Sending you hugs and sympathy. Our furry companions are never here long enough. x2 it's so unfair that they go so soon. I hope you're okay and sending many hugs So sorry Stacey. :'( |

Slovenia and Croatia has done me. Scratched. Hell. Of. A. Ride. In every way! Dazzers--I was just telling my German cousin (and the Germans are a tough bunch) about your drunken marathon home from the pub in jeans, and what you were doing now ... he was in awe. As am I. I will never get your wasp face out of my head. |

Especially for you, they are your children. And she was the grand dame of the lot. I actually have a lot of pictures with her in them because she'd always be the one closest to me. Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois So, NyNy stuck her foot in my rear to finally post a mini-bio Hi, I'm Yanti. I'm from Indonesia and a few other places. I hold 3 world records: 1) part of the largest contingent of Elvises to run a marathon (although NyNy makes for a better Elvis, I think), 2) I swam from one island to another where nobody'd done it before (and most said it couldn't be done), 3) that other human in my profile picture, the non-female-looking one, I married him during the run leg of Ironman Western Australia in ... uh ... 2014. He's one of history's greatest athletes, and possibly crazier than I am. That pretty much sums me up |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois Dave very cool for your son. Does he have a new bike yet? Stacey, so very sorry to hear about your Abbi. There are no words that will ease the pain so I will just send love and hugs. Jen, I thought this was so scary because it was 'close to home' living in Vancouver. But my gosh to be just down the street from your folks. Yikes! Glad they are okay and that they got the guy before he did too much damage.

Member 667 | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois Stacey, sorry for your loss. Our fur babies are our kids as well, and it's so hard when we lose one. Jen, it is a scary world right now. Glad everyone is safe! Janyne, you should dry your paddles, buoy, and fins next swim just to see if she says anything. What would be hilarious is if she started doing the same! |

Member 667 | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois mini bio - I'm Robin and I did my first triathlon in 2009. I broke my foot/ankle at the swim start and wasn't smart enough to stop. Hey, it didn't hurt that bad! A few months later I had to have surgery to repair the injuries and will at some point have to have surgery on "The Limb", as we call it, again. I've done all distances of triathlons but prefer the longer distances. I did IM Boulder in 2015 and the entire process, from the first day of training through the end of the race, was the time of my life. I'm married to an amazing husband and we've been trained by two Golden Retrievers and we're owned by two cats. |

Master 8249 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2016 - Manatee à trois Panic button....Just got the swim waves list for Worlds. 45-49 women start second to last. Only 18-24 women's group is behind us. I've been joking that my goal is to not end up DFL, but now thinking it could be a distinct possibility, especially after the bike. Those young whippersnappers are going to make up the stagger in no time, maybe before I even exit the water. OMG what if that is my claim to fame? I don't think there's quite the drama and glory of being the last finisher at Kona or another big IM event. Probably everyone will already be at the beer tent. |

Somehow I'm always in the last or second to last group, so this is something I worry about all the time! Of course, it would be an even bigger worry for me if the race was Worlds, but you are super fast and won't be anywhere near last. And if you are, it's still a cool claim to fame |

There are always people from ahead who blow up or just have bad days. There are always charity spots that have people who would not have otherwise been fast enough. A few will have taken a massive roll-down spot. Feel like this is somehow going add more pressure though ... |
