Kyla - Nothing easy about a half marathon, even if it's flat! Way to get it done and keep it positive!

Oooof -- tough run!!! Not what I had hoped for -- about 3-4 min. off my PR, oh well. I think I went out a bit too fast -- first 5-ish miles were great and seemingly comfy, then the wheels sort-of fell off. Struggle fest to the end and I didn't have ANY kick at the end. NONE. Usually I can muster up SOMETHING, but not to day.

Funny -- somehow during the race I locked the keys on my garmin. (I was trying to scroll to the screen that we just the clock, as I didn't want to obsess over pace/splits.) As a result, I couldn't stop the garmin at the end. As I drove home, I heard it beeping every mile, ha!!

Anyway, I've always wanted to run a flat half, but I think the truth is that my body likes the variety of hills. In any case, DONE!! Good luck other racers!!

Nice job on the race.  They can't all be easy ones, so powering through to tough ones is a great learning experience.

headlamps provide light to help you see in the dark.  sometimes setting up transition takes place in the dark.

have a nice day.

Good race, now have a large coffee! I had to drive home 3 hours after one early morning HM and I nearly fell asleep at the wheel, a coffee stop at McDonalds saved me. That was the one when I booked us all into a nice apartment by the beach but the rest of the family decided to go away somewhere else for the week - my fan club love watching me race NOT!

if you press the mode button (bottom left) at the same time as the up-scroll button (top right) on the Garmin it locks the keys, just do it again to unlock.

Also good to remember to charge the Garmin between runs.  It seems it doesn't track any data and just shuts off when it doesn't have a charge Undecided.  Actually it was a hidden blessing for me today.  I've been feeling sick and extremely tired, so today's 10 miles was more of a power walk with some jogging mixed in.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL and I don't feel guilty at all for taking it easy. And, I heard frogs.  SPRING is here! Cool

Kyla, I love your attitude.  You are an awesome athlete and I can't wait to read the official race report.  Is it up yet, or are you "Georging" it?

John has a 910??  NIIIIIIICE

For your amusement:  I will have two fewer students do deal with when I go to work tomorrow.  Seems two of my 8th graders were caught having sex in the bathroom on Friday.  Wow!!

Ha! Luckily it was just bike shoes and bike helmet on a small towel. Who needs light?

Had a great day of rest today. Spent a good portion of it cleaning out my closet since most of those clothes are too big for me now. Luckily, I kept all my suits and a lot of business casual stuff over the years, so it's not another expense.  Good day of sports as well ... unless you're a Wildcat or Tarheel.

Nice!

Pretty soon you'll have people asking you if your sick or saying you look like you've lost too much weight.

Happy Monday Morning Inspiration...................

When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking.  Arthur Conan Doyle

I wish I read this quote this morning while I was lying in bed, telling myself I don't have to get up and workout bc I'm not yet used to daylight savings. Oh well, tomorrow!

Love the rides/runs without the watch.  Great quote.  Keep them coming Tracy!

My wife bought me a finger swim lap counter last week from Amazon.  It wasn't water proof.

Love the quotes.  Great way to start a Monday.

The non-waterproof finger swim lap counter sounds like the manufacturer lost focus on the entire rationale of what it was supposed to do.  Sort of like a deaf 911 operator, a color-blind interior decorator, a mute radio host, or a blind sports announcer.

Summer?  I'm still waiting for Spring.  We've had at least a little snow on the ground since early January and it is snowing again now.

Great job on the weight loss David!

Thanks for the great quote Tracy.  Somehow I don't think it will be the same when I get on the trainer in another 30 minutes.

Great quote, I find it's the bike speed I need to ignore rather than the time, I'm constantly looking at my slow speed and thinking I should be going faster. I've just got a Garmin cadence sensor and this is working well by giving me something else to worry about instead of speed!

Amen to that!!  4:30am was rough today!!  Had to catch an early flight to Charleston for a fun filled week of meetings, YAY!

I will have my laptop in the meetings, so I'll probably check in often... Wink
