Wow Ironman's Facebook page has blown up with negative comments about their athlete tracker (I just left my own).
What will it take for them to get it right??

Again, a big congratulations to everyone that raced today.  Even if you didn't finish the hardest part of an Ironman is the training in my opinion.  I miss the training and am deciding on which long course event I want to do next year.  I sincerely wish the timing was working properly but sometimes technical issues don't work out as planned.

GREAT JOB!

Awesome Job Everyone!!  I met Jon, westchstertri, out on the course and ran with him for a bit.  Met kaburns in transition and yelled at her out on the course   The volunteers were so awesome.  I loved the Babptist Church group who came all the way up from Georgia to host the pancake breakfast and volunteer.  We spent a lot of time with them; very selfless, giving people.

Cannot wait to read everyone's Race Reports.

We should all follow Fred at Wisconsin and help him like he has helped and encouraged us.

BEST DAY EVER!

Super huge congratulations to all the BTers out there. You all looked great

Special shout out to Kate (kr140.6) - We met up randomly at the swim entrance chute and entered the water together and ended up leapfrogging eachother during the bike - my new IronBuddy!

Enjoy the post race high and recovery!

HOLY GUACAMOLE!!!!!!!!!!! BEST DAY EVER. I don't know if we have been very good girls and boys this year, but we were kissed by angels with the weather. Ryan, it was so awesome to be your iron buddy. Jerry I was so psyched for you when I saw you on the run! Aw, Kathy G and Fred you left some of your spirit out on the course...I felt you guys . I will write a race report (warning long) that will tell the tale of crying tears of joy after the swim, on the bike, and mile 25 of the run ( yes the spectators were telling me "Keep it together girl!")

Congrats to everyone in this years race. I've learned a lot from reading this thread, lots of useful information. I signed up this morning for next years race and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation of places to stay in Saranac Lake? My wife and kids (ages 5 and 6) will be with me. Thanks in advance and congratulations again on this years race!

It was definitely an awesome day out there yesterday... I mean, I can't walk worth a damn today, but it was a WHOLE LOT OF FUN. Caught up with CKunst in the last couple of miles after her son passed by heading towards the oval. Got a "man hand shake" from Matt Long heading back in to the finish.

Great job to everyone!!!

After years of thinking about the glory of doing IMLP, I finally made the decision today to just do it because I still can!

THIS WILL BE MY FIRST IRONMAN

I am very fortunate to have a training partner that is a 5 time IMLP finisher to show me the way

Time management will be my greatest challenge

I have always found it difficult to maintain balance with 1) my family = wife and three little rug rats 2) operating a small business and 3) training

However, my experience preparing for three 70.3 distance races during the past few years has proven that some how - some way - the job always gets done because one day at a time I always strive to do my best and truly cherish the journey

Look forward to seeing you all out on the course on July 22, 2012

What an awesome day! I'm so happy to have found the support of this group!

I had a rough day... Gashed my big toe pretty bad on the way to bike transition - saw my family and stepped over to give my girls a kiss not realizing that section had a drop off. Started out great on the bike, blew up my knee, and did the Ironman shuffle the entire marathon with help from a running partner I picked up on mile 7 (some serious motivation boost there... we kept pushing each other). And I loved every minute of it!

I was so out of it, I didn't realize I ran past Jerry in the last quarter mile. He was only 7 seconds behind me on the finish..I'm guessing at that point we both just wanted to break the hour mark lol.

In all, I'm feeling pretty great today though walking a bit gingerly with a few blisters and tired legs. What a great day, phenomenal volunteers, and a great group of people to share the experience with. Congrats BT peeps!

I was trying to catch you but it didn't work. I had a pretty solid run and I'll be aiming for low 11s at IMFL.

DUDE!!!!! I got ice from you. THANK YOU!!!!!!

I've been dealing with no wifi and BT withdrawal! At a coffee shop now before we head home. Great to meet some folks on Friday and hanging out with a couple BT'rs off and on. Ironwannabe and I were at the same hotel and ran into each other all weekend, and even in the water at the swim start. Good fun Jerry!

What a fantastic experience! Congrats to all athletes!!!

Hey everyone - sorry for the late jump-in, but I will agree with most that Sunday was absolutely fantastic! Due to a very poor decision made by another racer, myself and three other competitors were involved in a spectacular bikecrash with about 36 miles to go. I will spare the full race report here, but I suffered a front flat, broken left cleat, and a smashed rear brake. Fortunately I broke my fall with my head, so my body damage seems to be restricted to lots of road rash and a badly bruised rotator cuff - I will know for sure when I get to my doctor at home. After getting untangled and 30 seconds of cursing, I checked the bike over goodnfor damage, disconnected the rear brake, pried the bent retention springs out of my cleat, and changed my front tubie. Couldn't use my right hand or get in the aerobars, and could only push down on the left pedal, but finished up just fine. Steve (CornerOfDivision) caught up to me on the run, and I gotta say gave me an awesome pep talk - dude, you were awesome - I think I would have just cruised those last miles if it were not for you. I for sure would not have squeaked in under 12 without it!

we are enjoying LP for a couple of more days (today is our 14th wedding anniversary), but will write a full race report when I get home - I look forward to reading all of yours when they are written, please post here when you have them.
thanks again for all the support and encouragement in this group, it has been really fun getting to know you all a little bit, and meeting those face-to-face that had the opportunity.

ETA: Oh, and my crazy wife enjoyed spectating so much that she signed up yesterday, then made me sign up as well. I think I may have suffered a little brain damage in the crash after all...

Rusty, sorry to hear about your crash but glad you are okay!

Hey, does anyone know where on the internet to find the FULL Race Results posted?

I was a tad disappointed the ironman live tracker was not working, and oddly I remember it not working well last year -- could be the lack of cell waves in the mountains??  Also wish I had all my splits in the ironmanlive.com results.  I am missing my second split on the bike and a split on the run.

Slowtwitch usually posts a full expanded race results spreadsheet.  It hasn't come out yet for IMLP but I would guess it'll be out in the net few days.
