Congrats on the quick recovery. Hopefully you'll be able to get back into shape quickly. Just be careful not to overdo it like I probably would.

Congrats and I'm sure the fact that you're in such great shape helped the healing process.

Good luck and be careful!

Wow that didn't take long at all, not even 2 months! I am sure for you it felt like forever to be on crutches...
But the whole tri season is still ahead.
Woo Hoo
What about that lady who hit you? Any word?

bravo!  PT, swimming, and all have done their work.  Easy on the running.  No re-injuring.

We're looking forward to your next post-accident race report.  Also looking forward to a crutch-free avatar.

Yeah, now that I look back 7 weeks didn't take that long but this day always seemed so far away. Even just last week it felt like forever before I'd be back at the doc's office. I went out for an "easy" walk/jog tonight and everything feels very good. My foot actually seemed to be the most shocked by the walking...feels like I just walked 3 hrs in deep sand.

So, the doc initially said 6 months...who was I to argue? I just went with the flow, stayed positive and didn't waste any time feeling sorry for myself getting fat and lazy on the couch. (okay, I did spend 1 week on the couch) and here I am less than 2 months out and back to it. I've got a couple goals in my head for those late summer races I'm planning...can you say PR?

Don't call it a come back...I've been here for years

Awesome! Having your bones knit this early is amazing - you take care of your body, and it will take care of you.

Now you can spend your mornings training again instead of sitting in your car at that intersection waiting for that b__ch to drive by.

Joel, any update on that - did they ever catch her?

Unbelievable how quickly a trained body and mind can heal!  Congrats on a speedy recovery!  Take it easy before showing me up in the local races.

That's awesome news Joel.

Just remember to build it back slowly.  No sense irritating it, or injuring one of the supporting systems.

Enjoy the crutch-free weekend!
