Did not get the email from XTERRA, but it seems they extended the sale that was supposed to end a week ago for two more weeks.

I ordered a sleeveless model for 99 bucks, and it is back ordered til 2/10.......

SSMinnow - 2010-02-02 8:09 PM Hey Tony--I meant the will to do it.....you call it an FTP test, I call it a TT test. tomato, tomato, right?

kt65 - 2010-02-02 5:02 PM
dalessit - 2010-02-02 2:26 PM How are you guys having problems doing a TT on the Computrainer?

Do you mean a FTP test?

I was able to do mine.  The thing I am having problems with is finding the file once I export it to a TXT file.  I think it might be a windows 7 issue.

Dunno you guys call soda "pop" so you already have your own strange language.

Ha!  My wife is down there right now!  She is so Pi$$ed that it is raining.  She was sitting in her meetings today looking at the sun outside.  It was pourning when she arrived there yesterday.

Say hi to her for me!

I will!

It did rain again late this afternoon.  Hopefully it will be nicer tomorrow and rest of the week....and the weekend for the Super Bowl.  But I will not be around for that.

Holy cow...school (along with life in general) is kicking my butt right now and I can't even remember the last time I came by here.  Anyway, I've been plugging along with my (HIM) workouts as if i'm actually going to do one this year.  I had planned on doing Honu (here on the Big Island) but my husband has had a job offer in WA that he has accepted so he will be retiring from the Army 1 May and we will be moving to (very) northern WA!  I see they have a HIM right by where we will be living so as long as the move doesn't totally kick my arse, I am hoping to do it!  (Is that the longest run on ever or what?!)  Now I need to look up the races in that area and get a tentative schedule going so I have something to focus on!

Also, thank you so much for checking in on me even though I have been totally absent from the thread!!

Jeepguy2358 - 2010-02-02 5:55 PM I need to everyone who had to read through my childish rants yesterday.  It was kind of a heat of the moment thing.  Today was a little better.  The first thing I did was go back to my old bike shorts.  What a difference.  The new Pearl Izumi's padding is in the shape of a saddle.  I did not even notice.  Kind of felt like I was getting a little violated!

I rode for 1 hr 15 minutes today.  1 hour shifting through the gears in the old shorts, then switched and tried out the new ones for 15 minutes.  Once I realized the design, I made it work.

I still could not get comfortable in my aerobars.  I have my arms resting about two to three inches in front of my elbow.  When here my triceps get tired real fast.  I'd like to move them forward a little and almost rest my elbows on the pads.

The other part is that I feel way too much of my calves being used.  This might be due to the slightly revised pedal stroke the guy is trying to get my to use.  (Press more with the heels).

Anyway, I am documenting it daily and after a week or two, I am going back to make any neccesary adjustments.  Again, sorry for the rant and thanks for the advice.

Anyone else get this email from XTERRA?  I am getting a speedsuit since Louisville is never ws legal.

http://xterrawetsuits.com/UK09/?utm_source=febblast2&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=10daysalegn=10daysale

Don't sweat the small stuff.  Nice job working it out.

Be careful riding on the elbows.  I have a bad habit of doing that and when I get into long distances it hurts to straighten my arm out which is not good for my swimming.

SSMinnow - 2010-02-01 2:30 PMToday has been a BANG UP day! I did my first 30 minute run since 11/7 with no pain during or after AND I had the best swim day I have ever had, like ever.  Was I fast? Hell no, but for 40 minutes I swam going from one drill to the next without stopping feeling a little one with the water....what the heck is up with that?  Funny thing is as I was leaving, I was chatting with a guy I've seen for the last year or more.....he says to me "your swimming has gotten a lot better.  You used to really suck". Surprised  This isn't even dolphin guy, but a really "nice" 40 something dude.....I think he realized what he said, I laughed and agreed I really did suck bigtime.  He saw me in the days when I swam with a pull buoy half way down the lane, let it go and then tried to swim the rest of the way without it......gasping at the end.

Way to go, Suzie! Doesn't it feel good to get compliments?

Hello everyone, I've hit a bit of a plateau this week..kind of, but you gotta admit, I was kicking @$$ in the pool...my @$$ that is.

But I have good news!  A Triathlon coach team had offered a free coaching for a month (I lost), but because of the overwhelming requests from cyclists, they offered $10 coaching for a week for 15 weeks in on specific sport. Cheap?? H-e-double.hockey.sticks yeah!

So I'm taking advantage of this offer and going to meet with one of the coaches today to work on my schedule and figure out which ones I should be coached on (Run or the Bike...swim, I'm already doing really good, so I'm happy).

I'm really excited to finally be able to have a SET schedule as that's my biggest rant.

That is partially true.  Of course, I am working less so who the heck cares what day it is????? In fact, I was just thinking as I was coming back from the pool "how the heck do people train for IM and work a full time job? and have kids?  Lately, I am spoiled rotten.

ok.  i just got the trigger point starter set for now.  footballer and massage ball.  only one running store in the entire city sells it.  odd.

and there was a whole foods next door.  we used to have one close by in new orleans but not in my neck of the woods now.  maybe the novelty has worn off but it just doesn't seem the same.  still a pretty good cold beer selection though.  lots of places have good selections, but out on the shelf, not in the walk in cooler.  and when did fat tire start making 12 packs of cans?
