nails - 2011-10-12 1:20 AM I'll be heading to Little Rock for a few days this weekend, does that mean I have to log my running for the Midwest? :-)

Arkansas is a Southeast state - they wore grey during the Civil war....

oops...looks like I need a history book and a map!

I actually circled the Mississippi on my run today, but I am logging it for the Midwest.  But I thought fondly of the NE while I was doing it.  Incidentally, the fall colors are super awesome in Minneapolis/St. Paul right now.

Emmanem - 2011-10-12 3:28 PM I need to drop out... I'm having a hard time finding motivation these days so I've decided to use this month to figure out what I really want from this sport then set goals and go from there.  Good luck everyone!

Been there, done that...  did you burn it up all season?  If so, just take it easy and do which ever or whatever activity you enjoy for a few weeks.  Try to stay involved with BT and it will help get you back in the groove..

No it's just been a crazy year for me.  I graduated from college, got engaged, moved in with my fiance, got a job, etc.  Training has just taken a back seat and now that everythings settled down, I know I want to get back into it.  I'm just having a hard time transitioning back into training.  I'm hoping by the end of the month I'll have everything figured out because I really do enjoy the training and racing!

But don't leave this thread - come on back and participate at least.  I'm sure some motivation will get your way.

I'll definitely stick around!  I'm just going to ease back into training these next couple weeks... I'm thinking that getting my puppy at the end of the month will really help me out.  I mean I'm sure he'll wake me up early and then I may as well just get my butt out the door for a run before work if I'm already up.

Shermbelle - 2011-10-12 6:02 AM Dumb question 12 days in. Why am I on the Northeasterners when I live in Michigan? Shouldn't I be on the Midwest? Is it too late to switch?

I thought Midwest was west of the Miss River?  I am in Wis and am in the Northeaster too.

3 sore miles in tonight. Resting tomorrow (sorta... will be coaching youth soccer), and Saturday for half marathon relay on Sunday with my soccer girlies.

Go, Canada and The World!

Nice almost 3 miler last night with the hubby. I bought a new headlamp which works GREAT! but it also brings out the wee beasties on the trail we run at. Saw my 3rd coyote who didn't seem to care what we were doing, even the dog didn't bother him/her.

I'm more afraid of skunks than coyotes when I am out running....

Hm. I always defined 'midwest' as 'anything west of Pennsylvania."

Maybe next month's challenge should be 'East Coast' versus 'Everyone else.'

5 miles this evening. It was a great run. I'm loving the cool, clear nights. The stars are inspirational at the end of a run.

2 easy miles this morning (getting to like these AM runs!), 7 on tap for tomorrow.

6/16 down, still 1 behind schedule for the month.

Need to get in another run tonight...just waiting for my running partner to get home from work!

Its okay to run with a cold, right? Its just in my nose, not in my chest.

Yeah, you SHOULD be fine.  Should is the key word, but don't hold me to that.

UGH!  Getting off-track w/ my mileage
Just got home  not long ago from the Warren Miller premier.  NOW all I want to do is start lifting and prepping for ski season (which will be here SOON!)  I also want to go climb.

Tomorrow's 10 miles are going to SUCK!!!!  Please tell me that somehow, someway, running downhill will translate well to ski season :/
