I'm only used to earthquakes and haboobs. Forecast for mid60s, wind and possible rain in the morning for us. Quite the opposite of last year's run. Edited by 4agoodlife 2014-04-25 1:03 PM |

Oh, it's not going to amount to anything but lightning. So far, nothing here in Raleigh. I did go and roll up the windows in my car after leaving them cracked after lunch. I just want Hands to have good weather for her relay. |

Veteran 659 East Texas | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014 CLOSED Thread 2 WOW, lots of racing manatees this weekend!! Good luck to all!! ************ Had another tough day on the bike. I'm feeling the fatigue in my legs bad. Made it about 56 miles before had to cut it short. Did not get to do my brick I had scheduled. On one hand I'm upset I couldn't accomplish my goal for today but on the other hand I did have a successful brick at my 70.3 a few weeks ago and another huge weekend last weekend. I probably just need to get some rest. |

Jonathan in TX, sorry to hear your legs pooped out on you again. They'll come back; sounds like you're right - a little rest might be in order. Edited by laffinrock 2014-04-26 11:40 PM |

Well I figured out what it was. I lost 8 pounds in 4 hours. Not enough fluid for the heat. Very stupid mistake and lesson learned. I've got to increase my fluid much more then I thought. I'm gonna increase to 30 ounces an hour. IMTX could get up into the high 90s so I need to figure it out fast |

Veteran 416 Cleveland, Tennessee | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014 CLOSED Thread 2 Training/Racing Question/Opinion. I am doing B2B Half on Oct 27, I am considering adding a 50 mile trail race on Dec 20. Would this be enough rest/training time for the 50 miler? There is a 13hr cut off. I am looking for some local late season races that could be fun and an experience. Not decided on it completely, but looking for opinions. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014 CLOSED Thread 2 I have to b*tch about my LBS.......I recently had Sweet Mama in for a tune up and specifically sacked them to run the cables as the housing was cracked. They ONLY replaced the housing. I got a few miles into my ride today and Jen commented that she was sounding grumpy. She was better than she was all winter on the trainer....Got a little further up and I lost my ability to shift. Pulled into the first rest area and asked if there was a mechanic. The SAG wagon was coming in with supplies & the driver tried to get her into a little easier gear....I took their phone number and headed on with Jen having decided I would only do the half metric with her given these issues....Got about 1/4 mile away and knew it wasn't happening. The route was pretty hilly and in one gear my legs would have been toast. I turned back to the rest stop & Jen kept on. Driver took me to a different rest area where a mechanic was set up. It took him a while with old dental tools to get the snapped piece out of the head of the shifter. He was pretty nice, learned a lot from him. Glad I had the forethought to put money in my jersey cause I would have been screwed otherwise...Drivers backtracked the route so I could find Jen and ride in with her. In the end, I rode *maybe* 20 miles.....the ride benefitted a free clinic so I am fine having paid that entry fee for such a short day but I am really pissed off at LBS for not running the cables like I asked. |
