Las Vegas Marathon on Dec. 7th.

Basic Goal: Sub-4:00 and if all goes well Sub-3:40 (PR)

Running mileage has been down due to tri-training, but did finish sub-2:00 at Red Rock Half Marathon on Sunday.

Yes, healthy, but a little sore from Sunday.

Post Marathon: Get back to a balance between swim, bike, and run.

    Chigaco Marathon this weekend-October 12th!

My goal is to BQ first and foremost, so a 3:40:59. heh. But my main goal is between 3:30 and 3:35. I am healthy(knock on wood) and have not had any injuries so far. I feel confident I will hit my goal and perhaps exceed my own expectations.

My post marathon plan depends on wether I BQ or not. If I do then I will go into an active recovery phase until about December. I will probably run the Silver Comet Half Marathon 2 weeks after Chicago. Eat a bunch of holiday junk food and enjoy myself. If I don't BQ, it's off to Rocket City Marathon in December to try again. I plan on getting it done the first time though.

    Columbus Ohio Next weekend

Never have done one before (did a half 9 years ago when I was a lad of 24- tore the meniscus in my knee training for that one)

Started training 3 weeks ago after last Olympic tri.

    Have done a couple 13 milers and a 22.

Only injury so far is a sore left nipple. I guess my breasts are different sizes (for full humor effect I am a guy, 5'11 165, pretty flat chest except for slightly developed pectorals)

Looking for 3:45-3:55 range. (I am doing this because a friend of mine (a runner) was demeaning  my conditioning doing Olympic Tris. I told her that I could do a sub 4 marathon with minimal training. She (kinda a marathon snob) said no way you can without a proper 18 week training plan. Not sure if my mouth or her mouth is bigger than our brains.)

    • Which one are you doing?
    • What is your goal?
    • Are you healthy?
    • Any issues?
    • Post marathon plans?

My "A" race is the Baltimore Marathon, this Saturday (10/11/08).  I'm also running the inaugural (sp?) San Antonio Marathon on Nov 16.

My goal is a sub 3:30, which, barring a meltdown, I should finally be able to do.

I feel very healthy, though I've had mild sinus issues the past few days due to changing weather.

My post marathon plans include crab cakes and a lot of beer.  :-)  After that, I'll take a few days off, then start running, mainly to stay loose, for San Antonio.  After SA, I'll start focusing more on triathlon, and head to the pool and bike trainer more.

I am hoping to be able to get my running up to where I can complete my first marathon in mid January in Redding, CA. It should be a lovely run from Lake Shasta Dam down to the Sundial Bridge. We shall see how the legs handle the longer runs. I haven't done more than 15 miles on the long run eva in practice yet.

I'm doing the Marine Corps... I can't believe that it is less than three weeks away!!!

I did it last year but I missed my three longest training runs because of a foot injury... so my goal for last year was just to finish (and my time was pathetic!).  My goal for this year is to beat last years time and to finish injury free and feeling good.

I feel 'healthy' so we'll see how it goes!  The only issues that I have are slight knee and hip pains that lead to discomfort while running the long distance.  Sometimes it's 'bearable' and sometimes its not... I am hoping that they will stay within the 'bearable' range during the race.

My post marathon plans are to cut back on the running but pick up the biking (spin class and trainer during the winter) and swimming so that I can successfully finish my first triathlon in March!!!

Good luck to everybody and cheers to an exciting marathon 'season'!

First marathon: Hartford on 10/11.  Probably will end up around 3:45 if I run a smart race... could be slower, but could be faster (BQ?).  Then Mohawk Hudson on 10/12 as umm... er... recovery?  Goal is to finish (maybe 4:15 ish).

Yep, healthy, trained, and thankfully no issues lately.

After: recover, then back to the trails

    • Which one are you doing:  Chicago, October 12th.
(race number 3569 if you want to follow along  )
    • What is your goal: Boston Qualify, 3:15 or better.
    • Are you healthy: Yes
    • Any issues: Mental Doubts creeping in.
    • Post marathon plans: Run, and run some more.

Followed my Training plan to the absolute letter, save for a one week window where I had a hip injury. Speed work has gone well. Have not hit the weight I wanted, but only 5 pounds off, on the heavier side. Really, what it comes down to now, is how I wake up on race day. It's all on me.

I am doing Marine Corps in a few weeks and possibly Thunder Road (Charlotte, NC) in December.  Marine Corps is my second attempt back to marathoning after the birth of my 3 children (my first attempt in May ended in a DNF Frown).  I just need to finish so I can get back on track mentally.  i need to know I can do it again!  You know?

      San Antonio - 11/16
    • What is your goal?
Sub 5:00...it'll be my 7th attempt, but a PR would be under 5:03:23
    • Are you healthy?
Mostly healthy.  I have some nagging hip/glute pain
    • Any issues?
I can't decide whether to back off a little and try to heal my hip or push through since I'm in the peak of training.  The pain has been an issue for my past two 1/2 marathons (both in the last three weeks).  I have 24 and 26 mile training runs left theoretically.  I need to do at least one of them...I've done a 20 which was ok.
    • Post marathon plans?
Back off the running a little and put some quality time in on the bike trainer and the pool in preparation for my HIM in June '09.

    * What is your goal? I'd like to see 2:30 hrs.  But finish is the main one

    * Are you healthy? Got a minor cold/allergy thing going, but otherwise good

    * Any issues? Hate running, the longer I run for (time-wise) the slower I go

    * Post marathon plans? Jump right into training plan for the PF Changes RnR Half in Phoenix in Jan.

    NYC November 2

Goal...well i'm not sure really.   At this point it's just to finish healthy.   I'd like to stay under 5 hours if it turns out to be a good day.   I haven't trained a whole lot since i've concentrated much of the summer to Tri's.   I did 12 miles last week fairly comfortable, so that makes me feel ok.   Plan is to do 14 miles this week if i feel good, 16 next week, and maybe 18 the following before i drop off the week before the race.   So my goal will depend on the next 3 weeks.

Healthy....yes.   No issues, no nagging injuries....everything perfect.

Post Race....really get back to concentrating on biking and swimming a bit more.   Gonna keep my running up so i can do maybe a 1/2 Marathon later on.   But primarily focus on biking and swimming.

Doing my first on 12/14 Dallas Whiterock Marathon

    Goal of 4:18.

Only issue right now is motivation to get up at 4am for my long runs during the week and then my super long runs on sunday. Up to 20 miles and feeling better everytime.

I am hoping that this will benefit my running for next tri season. I always seem to struggle on the run split. Maybe because I kill the bike, then nothing left for the run.

First Marathon: Jan at Disney. (also doing the Half at the Silver Comet Trail the 25th of this month)

Goal: Finish healthy and help Dr. GoodHands finish as well.

Issues: Some pain in both hips during my last 14 miler...nothing major though.

After race plans: Get in the pool to aid recovery from a fall of running and to build a great swim base for the spring/summer tri season.

I am doing Chicago.  It will be my 12 marathon and 4th of the year.  No clue how I will do but because of the heat I figure I will go out faster than I would like too and when it gets hot I will slow down.   I doubt i can PR but I will hopely beat my slowest record on the course.

Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco Oct. 19

    Goal?
Under 5 hrs. We'll see how that goes...it's my third marathon and my PR this spring was 5:07. I'm a bit faster now, but the hills could throw me off...

    Are you healthy?
Mostly. Little aches and pains, especially now in my taper.

    Any issues?
Never flown anywhere for a big race before...kind of freaked out about adjusting to a new place and getting my food and everything straightened out for the big day. I've had a little nagging tightness/ache in my calf/Achilles but it seems to be getting better with regular stretching.

    Post marathon plans?
Got a couple really fun fall runs coming up. Think I'll cut back the mileage a bit and get back on the bike for a little while before it gets really cold. Looking forward to swimming again as well.
