Question.  I have never done this before but would like to.  Do I have to be a part of a team?  I have none?  Am I excluded??

thanks!

Hi! I'm intresed in your challenge.
I tried to enter my data into the google spreadsheet, but I'm horrible at computers and couldn't figure out how.
I'm intresed in a swimming challenge, since it is the last of swimming season (after this month, no more meets untill June) and we have some pretty big meets comming up.
Put me down for swimming-22 hours.

Hi Teddie....WELCOME - no need to be a part of any team...but I recommend joining a mentors team along with your challenge team....for the feb challenge, you just have to go to the spreadsheet and sign up for either swimming, biking or running....and then reach that goal within the month of February...it is important for you to update the log each week, too....good luck and have fun!

Hi amyro1234,

No problem! I've entered your 22 hours of swim into the spreadsheet.

Hi TeddieMao,

Welcome to the Challenge forum! Here's how it works:

You declare a goal for the month. If you can enter the info directly on the spreadsheet, GREAT. If not, just tell me that you couldn't do it, and state your goal here.

In a few days, I'll set up the teams. I'll put the Runners together, the Swimmers together and the Bikers together. (There will probably be several teams for each discipline.)

Then, on Feb 1st, the challenge begins, and you swim, or bike, or run. Each time you do this, you log your info in your BT training log. And each Saturday, you need to update the spreadsheet with your weekly totals. (Or, if you can't update this yourself, you can ask your Team Captain to help you.)

Thanks, I was in a mentors group but they kinda disappeared on me or maybe I wasn't hardcore enough.  Anyway, it's pretty cold here so I do my training indoors.  Does a stationary bike count for biking?  I couldn't get into the spreadsheet.  I would like my goal to be 125 miles biking.

Yes, you can use a stationary bike. (I'll be using one, too.)

I've added you to the spreadsheet.

Welcome to the challenge! I'll post the team rosters in a few days.

Well, I looked at the schedule and adding up all my "proposed" runs I would be at 223 ...... but I've got to keep it honest and know that I will probably not hit all those miles (I was close to 40 off of what I was supposed to do this month for example).

So I'll go on record officially for 200 and see what happens .... after all, for almost 3 weeks of the month I'll be tapering.

Okay, I already posted that I would swim. I will make my yardage pledge at 24,000 yards, which is possibly a conservative estimate, since doing the swim portion of a Half-Iron (relay team) may be in my future, in which case, I will probably have to bump it up. But fow nor, we'll say 24,000 yards.
