I've been thinking about sitting out for April to make sure I have the proper preparation for my first 2008 tri on April 20. I'll participate in a challenge only if I feel I can accomplish both.

That's the reason for the incentive of doubling either distance or time for race participation. My own calender has both a half mary and an oly on it so yes there may have been self serving in that rule but hey that's the beauty of writing the rules.

Yellow line- in the TV show "Biggest Loser" the people with the lowest percentage weight loss each week fall below the yellow line, so it's just a way of deciding a break point for 'losers' vs 'winners.' Frankly everyone who participates in this and makes the effort to reach their goals is a winner but it's not a challenge if there aren't penalties of some sort. See my current avatar for example

Being a Giants fan I am SO glad Team Running With Scissors was THE February winner!

So, we state a goal for two different events. Do we then carry a separate % completion for each?

Hi xterratri!

Sounds like a great challenge! I've edited your first post in the thread, so that it includes the challenge guidelines/rules. (This will make it easier for people to see them up front.)

Thanks for setting this up! (And welcome to the wonderful world of challenge organization! LOL)

I'm in as well. I need to work on my goals, but until about April 4th I won't have my plan for my coach. I guess I can estimate low and then up them based on what fun he give me for the month.

I have a 1/2 Mary and my first tri of the year in April and thinking of doing a 5 or 10K and a Duathlon..but not sure yet.

I'm trying to figure out my goals.

Can I ask again, how will the tallying work? Will each person be tallying their different events as separate goals toward the team total? Will there be a bonus for stating a goal for more than two events?

Between patients so will keep this short-
-no bonus for multiple goals
-how tallied: each activity will be tracked and the percentage complete calculated for each individual and activity on a google spreadsheet. We'll use weekly reporting but base final results on end of month totals.
Hope this helps clarify, if not I'll post more later from home.
