Jorge, I am in with HR/RPE.   I have been on the trainer a couple times a week, but finding it hard to stay motivated on my own program.

Question, I have a HIM March 27, should I follow the same program or increase the time or ....   I know it's not ideal but I can't ride outside until January anyway, so it is what it is.

Thanks

I think you should charge for each watt gained, with some sort of tiered rate structure. We can call you the Jorge Power Company.

rcberto - when you do the cycling AND the run training!

ChrisM -  The plan should provide you with great fitness gains for your HIM. Most of the trainig adaptations are vital for any endurance athlete and for your HIM in particular doing sessions at MLSS and Tempo will provide great fitness gains. By Jan when you can begin riding outside start making the optional long rides consistently and you should have all the fitness you need to have a great race (assuming you mix in swim and run). If anything follow the plan and if need it just add some time on some of the tempo/long rides.

I'd like to try this too, although I'd also be doing HRbased. I can't afford a power meter.

i think i will participate...no power here but I imagine doing the plan in correct zones will give me some benefit....

i want the 205 watt increase.....  Laughing  on a serious note if you can get me to average 26 mph in a 10 mile sprint and then still run 7 mpm you have succeded.

I would love to do this as well - besides my bike and trainer, what do I need?  Obviously, I need help!  Thanks Jorge!

I'm in, too! HR for me (no power meter for me either). Definitely need to improve on the bike and was trying to figure out the best way to go about it...this sounds like the way to go.

I"m definitely interested again this year.  Last year was going so well until we had a family crisis.  Looking forward to getting back at it!

I'm in with my two new toys.  I got a Computrainer about three weeks ago and love it, though I live in fear of the pain as I pointed out in another post.  And I just got a Powertap wheel for outside rides.  Of course it arrived at the start of a 5 day stretch of rainy 40 degree days.

The timing is perfect.  I've got my last race of the year--a 70.3 in Texas--on October 25, then I'll start thinking about IMLP for next summer.  Cycling is definitely my weakness, and as someone who couldn't swim 100 yards six months ago, I never thought I'd be saying that at the end of the year.

I don't have a trainer for my bike but I do have a spin bike that kicks my butt.  I added a simple bike computer onto so I can track speed, distance, cadence. My question is, since I don't have any gears to change, but increase/decrease the resistance by tightening/lossening the "brake pad", will I be able to track my progress? I had a HR monitor, but lost the watch part.

Will I be able to participate with the equipment I have?

Thanks Jorge,

Last year's plan was great - unfortunately I was not able to complete it due to injury.  I'd love to follow the plan again this year.

Jorge, I'm back for round II.  I found last years sessions really motivating, but so far I haven't managed to drag myself out of bed to ride the trainer.  I NEED your program.

(Spit glass has already been set aside for the 20min FTP ridesTongue out
