Congratulations, Sam, Dino, and Julia!!!

Kona was amazing! Super exciting to watch this year, even my eldest daughter, who is usually completely uninterested, was caught up in the excitement of watching Crowie's last mile and the amazing women's race... so inspirational!

Same here!! I called my son in to watch Crowie's finish with me, especially as he started cramping up. My son totally got caught up in Crowie breaking the record ("does he know how close he is? does he know? does he know? go go go go!!!")! Of course I was in tears at both the women's and the men's finish, which my kids totally don't get. I'm such a sap!!!!

Race numbers!!! How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No worries.  Unless you have eyes in the back of your head (and can see a long way), you won't be seeing me very much during the race either.  Smile

I warmed up for 30-45 minutes and raced for 12.  Flatted a lap and a half in.  I had spare wheels, they were in the car, I have a spare bike, it is on the stand in my basement....

Again, it was all good, the beer was cold.

Canada sucks. Happy turkey day, suckers. Do you really have turkeys up there? Probably frozen, not fresh.

I've been out of it for a week or so, did anyone post this?

http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/blog/fourth_place_medal/post/Woman-gives-birth-hours-after-completing-Chicago?urn=oly-wp756

crazy stuff.

Just saw that on yahoo earlier today.  Seems like an unnecessary risk.  I am suprised that a doc gave the OK even for half (seems like most docs would shy away due to liability) and not sure why she didn't take what he gave her and go with that and stop at the half.

It was all good in the end but I question her choices...

HA!  I nearly was clocked by a deer in Minocqua earlier this year.  IM Moo does have cows that cross the course occasionally, but they're penned up for the race.

Back to the real world today and trying to catch up on so much I've put off for so long.  Even got a couple RR's up here and here, if any one is interested.

I just have to say 8 days at WDW is too long.  We had a great time but even with some down time we're all exhausted and looking forward to our normal routine.

Congrats on the PR, Sam!  Sorry we missed you guys!

Probably best to not run in garb that looks like woodland creatures during Oct, Nov, and Dec.

While it may be cool to run marathons in costume, jogging through the woods dressed like this will end badly...

No worries the Halloween party was crazy crowded.  We actually saw our neighbors when we first got there and planned to meet up for the parade but we barely found room for the 4 of us to stand and see.

Did you guys stay over the weekend?  We left on Saturday so only had to deal with one day of the monsoon.

The Halloween party was ridiculously crowded!  It really messed with our plans.  We only hit 4 rides and missed the early parade.  We didn't get back to the hotel til 10:30 and were all miserable the next day.  Glad we had Animal Kingdom planned for Fri.  We left on Sat as well. Morning flight. We were thrilled to have had such good weather.

I had a small world occurance while waiting for rope drop at the MK on Tues.  The family next to us was from MA and the dad raced Timberman with me in Aug.  He did IMLP this yr as well.  It was fun chatting about races while we waited.

Aloha everyone! Congrats to Sam, Julia, Dino and Christina on your races this weekend! I actually ran more than 3 miles for the first time in a month...6 miles along the coast near Diamond Head beach at sunrise, then took a dip in the ocean with my new non leaky goggles! Bought some TYR junior goggles, yay they fit! So does my new bikini! Eating up a storm, pineapples are virtually free, 99 cents I kid you not! Anyhow, enjoying a very relaxing holiday thus far...take care all!

let's see... pineapples - dice up the pineapple, add some diced red bell peppers, diced red onions, and minced jalapenos.  Give it squeeze of lime juice, a grind of fresh ground pepper and just a smidge of vegetable oil

Great on grilled chicken or roast pork tenderloin...
