Hope to have my RR tonight and a full RR with pics later this week.
Chicago was a crazy number of people. Chaotic at points. Weather was extremely hot for the International and Pros, still quite warm for the sprint.
They claimed a 450 yard run, that was probably closer to 600 or so from the swim to transition that was factored into the swim time, kinda odd and a PITA.
Bike course was fun as can be, the number of people made it hard, supposed to pass on the right for some reason, but people did not do very well riding to their speeds in a lane, making some very hairy spots trying to pass or almost getting pinched into traffic.
The run was a mix of sidewalk/grass. The grass part sucked and had lots of holes, and then a path that had 2 way run traffic was very narrow. Not a great place to settle into your pace and go.
By far the best race as far as spectators go, they were right on the run path and cheered for everyone. This was probably the highlight. That and the swim was in the harbor, so spectators were on the path/wall and could basically walk the entire length of the swim course as you swam it.
The pro/sponsor event was quite amazing. I have some pics from where it was hosted at the top of the Hilton, amazing view. I got to talk with so many guys at the pro level, it was pretty cool. I have come to the conclusion that if you move to Colorado you will be good at triathlon..... It seems like a majority of the pros live in CO. It was a fun event, some of the big names were not there, or I never saw/ran into them, but it was nice to just meet with a ton of great people.
That is a mini RR

I had a good race, not what I was shooting for, but given the conditions etc, I am pleased. 6/183 AG and 35/2285 Overall.
Since I did not hit my smaller goals, looks like they are going to have to be what gets me through winter!
