I've been off the grid since Friday afternoon.  I did get updates about Sam's race via text message from Tony--THANKS!!!

Sam, you have just accomplished something that most of us (except maybe Roni) can't even begin to comprehend.  Very very proud of you.  Only sore quads??  We need another report tomorrow and Tuesday :-

Kyla, that hilly 1/2+ trail run sounds like "fun".  I look forward to reading your race report.  Way to rock it!

Now for Linda and hubby.  I saw the swim times and the first bike splits.  Looks like thy are both going strong.  Get off those bikes and run, Linda, run!!

I took yesterday off and rested.  I figured Sam and Kyla were exerting enough energy for all the rest of us Laughing.  Today I got out on the trails for my long run.  And, I mean my longest run EVER.  I made it 10 miles without walking (Age pace 11:30 min/mi.).  The first 6 miles were steady and good.  At mile 7.5 it started feeling like hard work and the last 3/4 mile was just head down and one foot in front of the other.

I just got confirmation this morning that I'm going to be doing part of a 50k trail race in December.  Hubby, DirkP (from my first MG) and I will each be doing 10 miles.  My brother in law is doing the entire 50k alone (show off!!).  Should be a super fun day.  I'm hoping they let me get my slow self out there for the first lap and then I can relax and enjoy the rest of the show!!

Congrats on an awesome run today, Jayne!!

I had my longest run of the year as well today at just over an hour long.  I'm still moving slowly (for now), but I am very pleased with it considering I struggled to complete sets of running 2 minutes walking 3 at the beginning of this year.

I continue to be amazed at the members of this MG and what you accomplish on almost a weekly basis.  While we all do this for ourselves, I appreciate the inspiration you provide and the motivation to keep going - not to mention the wisdom and experience you share.  So as we begin this week of Thanksgiving I just wanted to pause and say thanks to each of you.

Awesome bikes from both Jeff and Linda!! Zoom! And Jeff's marathon is off to a brisk start (8:42 average for first 2.5). Keep it up!!!

Leana Cave smoked that course -- a 2:58 marathon? Holy smokes! And the winner Eneko Llanos broke 8 hours? Insane!!! Love that.

David,

I know exactly what you are talking about.  Back in January I was doing intervals of run 2/walk 2 and it was HARD.  I also agree with the inspiration and motivation from the mentor group.  I big THANK YOU to everyone from me too!

We don't have her 20-mile run time yet, so she has more than 6.2 to go, but we're not sure how much.... Might have a better idea after we get one more run split.
