Racine Half,

So if all goes as planned I will get in my last stage of the Tour Challenge (56 miles) on the last day of race to wrap things up on July 21st.

Stage 3 - 30.29 miles/ 1:52:41/ 16.1mph (yay, finally broke the 16 mph barrier) - its amazing how quickly you get your into gear with a torrential downpour hits you - mile 12-19 was horrendous...could barely see the trail in front of me because of the rain and no place to pull over for shelter

Stage 4 complete  all of 5 miles--but I warned you I wouldn't be riding much.

I am signing up for another sprint this season though, just for fun.  Ocean City Beach Patrol Tri in Ocean City MD. It just happens to be while we're on vacation in the area next month.

It still beats nothing, and like you said, you set your goal accordingly.

if I wasn't doing the Culpepper Sprint that weekend in VA, i'd head up towards Ocean City - it isn't far from where I live - good job on finding a tri near a vacation spot

I would love to do a triathlon vacation - something like Jamaica/Bahamas and then time it to a triathlon; or maybe Europe...one of my friends is looking at doing IM Austria in 2015, and its tempting

I like doing races for fun when I go on vacation. I've done a couple races that the purpose of the trip was for the race and it wasn't as fun for the family because they didn't get to do as much as they wanted.  If I can find a race in an area when I'm vacationing I'll sign up.

Never did Culpepper Sprint--my guess is that it's a fairly hilly course from what I know of the area.

yeah, it looks to have a couple of decent hills - the one I did about a few weeks ago in Bath County, VA had a doozy of a hill right out of the transition - I wasn't sure if I was ever going to get up it...so i'm looking for some training routes in the next week that have some hills if possible - Culpepper is only like an 2 hours from my place - so its a nice area and I have friends that live down there

Stage 5 done - 20.48 miles/1:17 h/m...what I would give to be able to get a ride in with in rain! I was 10 miles out and it started to rain, and then the thunder/lightening started...and no shelter...i just went head down and tried to move - but yeah...no more riding until Sunday here for my race - give my legs some recovery time
