I think I have to dial back my ego a bit.  I need to realize that training for 20-30 minutes IS going to do something.  I think I needed to get out and do an hour for any results and then get burned out after 3-4 days of it.  Unfortunately, I'm at the point that 20-30 minute of cardio  and 20 minutes of lifting is all I can do but will also actually make a difference.

I think once you are able to do the 20-30 minutes of cardio at some point you will increase it as it feels better for you.  I know that is back to where I am, but it is all taking place in my basement music/drainer/dreadmill room.

Keep at it and it will make a difference.

I like giving my grandparents gift cards because they NEED them - literally. I usually get one to their local CVS where they fill prescriptions. It's not the "funnest" gift but like I said, they seriously NEED them and tell me how much they love getting gifts they actually use.

For others? A bit odd, depending. My sister and I last year did tickets to the opera + a big gift card to a local restaurant last year - I liked the pairing as a "night on the town" for them. But to give solo definitely screams "couldn't think of anything else, here's some cash you can only use at this one place" - at least from me.

There you go.  He into the arts?  I got the wife season tickets to the Opera in Denver (for me to go as well, of course).

Depends on how close you are now.  But a personalized picture frame with a good picture of you both in it.  I guess IF you break up, it may go to waste, or if the frame isn't TOO personalized, can be used again?

I used to get my parents gift certificates to Ticket Master along with to a nice place for dinner so that they could choose which show they wanted to go see, and were able to see it when they were available - and they really seemed to like that idea.  We only do the "Secret Santa" thing now and all the gifts go to the kiddos.  I'm good with that.

I like the picture idea Jim!

My aunt and uncle always get us something from Omaha Steaks for Chjristmas and we love it!  Alwasy nice to have meat delievered to your door!

(your welcome for the setup)

Speaking of meat.....

24 briskets....180 sausages.....3 racks of ribs.....all smoked today. I ate 1/4 of that.

I'm full, tired, and smell like campfire....but we have 200 happy employees, and that's all that matters.

Awesome! I assume you rented a smoker? Or do you have something which can handle that capacity?

PS4 is out today!

As I arrived to work, there were about 50 people lined up waiting for us to open. I also checked the cameras at other stores and saw that there were lines at all stores waiting for this release.

Anybody getting a PS4???

No PS4 for me yet. I am holding out for now. I did buy Call of Duty Ghost for PS3 last night finally.

I'm waiting.  I sort of fell out of love with CoD.  I still haven't finished last years!  I'm currently working on The Last of Us.  AWESOME.  And AC:  Black Flag, and Far Cry 3.

I see you pop on and off line occasionally.

Ya I see you sign off and on once and a while as well.

I am a big COD fan. I love some of the other games but I just don't seem to have the time to invest. COD I can pick up and play for 30 mins and put back down.

Look up the Ugly Drum Smokers.

I am building one of those this year. I wanted to buy a weber smoker but man it is almost double the price in Canada as it is in the US

It is sleep in Sunday, which is my only day not at work and I slept my normal 4 hours and then finally gave up after 6 hours of laying down in the bed.  I hate getting old and not being able to sleep.

I feel silly for getting ready to run inside on a treadmill but the winds outside here are 30-40mph sustained. A side table blew off the deck and down the stairs a few hours ago, the door mat is down the street, flower pots are in someone elses yard.. Crap is flying everywhere out there. I took the dogs on a short walk and even they were hunkering down. Bleh!

Sounds like a prudent plan. Seems pretty nasty out there on the prairie.

Here it rained this weekend. Then it kept raining. And then it rained some more. On the one hand I feel somewhat cheated. On the plus side however had an excellent family night out at our favorite ramen restaurant Saturday night.

Kido thanks for the excellent Fitbit review.

Morning TANners.  I worked most of the weekend, but played in a music jam for about 3 hours on Sunday afternoon, so it made for a good time.

At lunch today I am going to try and find my way back to this thing called a pool. I think you can swim laps in it or something. It has been so long, I think I have forgotten my locker combo!

I have dreams that I forgot my locker combo all the time!

Had a silly dream this morning. It was my wedding day and I was already dressed, but remembered I hadn't showered. So I hop in the shower, which is identical to the one at my parents house a la 1985 but of course we are not at my parents house - can't find shampoo, soap, anything. Then I realize I am still wearing pantyhose in the shower (take those off but decide NOT to shave my legs). Finish showering and am trying to find my clothes forever while 2 or 3 people bust in on me nekkid, and I don't care.

Any dream analysts?

You secretly desire to get married in a shower, to multiple partners at the same time, with harry legs, in a place you grew up ?
