One of my teammates made a cue sheet for the race.  I feel so official.

Steve, are you racing this weekend??

Go get em the rest of you! And rest of all you DLers. Flu 2.0 yowza.

Yes, it's more of a St. Patrick's Day festival thing and my wife and son are running.  Technically, I was first OA last year (5th officially but the others cut the course and did not dq themselves) and I have to defend my title.  Hey, at least it's not a trail half.

More importantly, I am so sorry about your loss.  You've been through a lot.  Hang in there.

Nice of them to include directions to the hotel!!

Make sure you tape it securely to your top tube.  Clear tape will be better than duct tape.

Guilty. I signed up prior to the race last year when they had an additional drawing. I think it made me eligible for this drawing too.

I have to fill out all this paperwork for restitution and wowza, my medical bills were almost 20K for my broken (and fixed) face.

I am so thankful that I have insurance. I am guessing I would never get that kind of money out of the dude who did this.

Holy crap.  Did the dude end up going to jail?

He did. For about 3 months.

Not long enough for what he did.

I'm all kinds of nervous and hyped.

Finally got a chance to watch this.  There's a guy in the LBS kit all through it, hanging with the guys riding the Argonaut bikes.  Weird small world.

This looks like such a cool race.  Hope you rocks the socks of it!!

I bought a new helmet today! A Louis Garneau Superleggera Aero Helmet so it looks like I have Spaceship Earth from Epcot on my head!

I lead such an exciting life...

Nice! I bought those wheels, so now I'm just in search of a deal on an aero helmet myself!

I've been using a Specialized TT2. That tail is enormous. Bigger than any of the current helmets.

Hey guys.  Just wanted to report in that I'm alive.  I didn't win the race due to some poor positioning in the first gravel section.  I'll put up a report by tomorrow, but for now some highlights:

  1. Positioning is everything.  I need to remember that
  2. I saw the toughest hills I've ever seen.
  3. I don't think I'll be calling "gravel" or "hole" anytime soon on local rides...
  4. The course was everything I thought it would be and more.

Alive is good, very good!  I'm very anxious to hear about the race, especially 'Big Bertha', as mentioned on the cue sheet.

That ^^^^.  Sounds like you had a good experience, learned a few things, and had a good race despite not winning.  Was there much opportunity to draft on the gravel portions or were you pretty much on your own?

Sounds like the race lived up to the expectations and that you did well.  Can't wait to hear the details.  Glad you got through unscathed.

Adrienne- that sucks horribly. Can't imagine unexpectedly losing a close family member. I hope the weekend's activities soothed your hurt.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
