Twin--I love the eye chart and love that you are so passionate about baseball and your team.  Must be a great feeling!!!

John et al--it was bound to happen sooner or later.  Doesn't sound like it will be much in the way of precip, but it is a foreshadowing of things to come.  Praise be that Coop is on his way to being potty trained!

Definitely not irrelevant!  regardless of what MEN think, I would rather look like this any day of any week of any year....

Besides, why should the kid get the party - who was doing all the work 5 years ago??  Wink

Kim and I have been PM'ing back and forth about this and I was leaning towards a "destination race" for next year but I just found out 2 weeks ago that my 40th High School reunion is that weekend and I am really looking forward to that....so maybe 2012.

And yes John....it says 40th.....but I started VERY YOUNG.   ;-)

Consistency for me is the key.  If I have that in my training, then the rest takes care of itself.  2010 has been an injury year for me, but even when I could train, I let little things get in the way.  If I can change that pattern then the rest will happen as it should.

Not racing, but looking forward to volunteering IMFL

Several things I am really trying to work on.  Trying to make it a priority to run nearly every day...at least a little.  Got to become a better runner.

Trying to eat a little better...need to be a thinner runner

No racing....except chasing the kids around Disney World!  Headed there on Saturday for the week.  Looking forward to some QT with the family!!

I need to get to a lower racing weight next season.  I was 5-7 lbs heavier this year than last and I think I paid for it on the bike and the run.  Target is 162 lbs with a stretch of 160.  I will do this by cutting out the unhealthy snacking I do...mostly at night.   BUT...that will start after the first of the year.  These next two months are just crazy with eating opportunities so moderation is the goal until Jan. 1!!

Good luck racers and thank you volunteers.

I am.  XTERRA Battle at Big Creek (5 mile trail race).  I'm really freaking excited about this though it dawned on me this morning that I have no idea how to race on single track.   Any tips would be appreciated... :-)

need garmin help!

For some reason my garmin 310xt is not transferring my workouts.  It used to..  but now it connects and the watch indicates it's transferring data but the result is the same..  Failed data transfer..  Anyone encounter this?  It works and then it doesn't..  I tried deleting the device from the profile and repairing it but it doesn't work..

Stay on the trails, and pace correctly.  The hills will sap you if you race those babies too aggressively.

thanks. i've learned, the hard way that pacing is critical!  what about passing or being passed? simple "on your left"?  is there a right of way going up or down hills? some of the areas are really tight.

funny,  last wednesday was one of the first time this past month or so that i've actually seen someone else out on the trails.  which is part of why i've really come to enjoy them.

I think that on your left works, The trail run I did last year that's how I passed people.  Mountain biking is the same, if you have the gears to pass just let the person in front of you know and they usually move over.

I paced by HR because the paces I was running on trails were no where near what I would run on the road.

I had a blast in the one I did.
