Went for one last run along the foreshore today and enjoyed the sunrise before I flew home.
(This is like the only part of my home town that I miss apart from Family)

Oh, forgot to tell you all about the email I got from Rock N Roll yesterday...

Apparently, if I go to a participating retailer and spend $100 on Brooks in the next month I will recieve a sticker for my bib (for the HM) that gives me access to the "Brooks VIP Porta Potty staffed by Brooks employees and volunteers from participating Denver-area retailers".

I'm tempted... Undecided

LOL!  A VIP port-a-potty???  Do they clean it after every use?  Red velvet ropes leading up to it?  The three-ply paper for your comfort??

And staffed nonetheless

Tust me, the VIP portapotties and bag check get you out of a lot of race day hassles.  Totally worth it and one pair of shoes can easily take care of that fee--or warmer clothing to prepare for winter....Wish I had done that for RnR VA Beach!

I was thinking that too. Especially with my new found appreciation of my Brooks. Downside is DS2 is doing it too so I'd either have to tell him tough... or buy TWO pairs of shoes

Do you really need to ask us what the correct plan of action is here???

Or you could just tell them that you want to pay Australian prices for your one pair of shoes and that will cover it. My pair of Adrenaline 13's cost me $250 here in Australia, you can buy them on the Brooks US website for $110 but they wont ship to Australia. It totally sucks how much shoes and clothes are here.

Stacey go onto Amazon - ActivInstinct ship to Australia - got me some Asics off there now Wiggle won't play here either.  Activinstinct are UK based and will.

The Engine 2 Diet?  I bought it a couple of years ago, but for me it requires to much cooking

Fachmie, focus, carpus

So sorry Jo, but glad you got it checked.  Better to get it healed up than have it be chronic.

Totally agree with Fachmie, focus, carpus!

Sorry you will miss your race, but you're going to own that trainer!

That's crappy Jo

Kirsten, how did your friend get off in IM Wales. By all accounts, they had the four seasons down there (the weather, not Vivaldi or Frankie's backing group)? I hear there are quite a few age groupers that are feeling quite I'll after it. Not physically ill, but, gutted, after getting top slots for their AG and then losing their Kona Qualifier because of DQ'ing for littering. Ouch!

I think we will do less intensity than he advises.  We both love seafood too much so I think we'll be flexitarian.  I also love yogurt & cheese which are hard to give up.

Ouch, so sorry Jo. But Kirsten is right, get it taken care of correctly and you'll be better in the long run. Trainer time!

Originally posted by JJ- So BTA sounds best for 70.3 distance and longer. With BTA bottles and no straws do you just remove the bottle, drink while in aero, and re insert the bottle? Do y'all find it better or worse BTA bottles with or without straws? It looks like SpeedFill A2 and Profile Design are the main ones with straws

BTA is good for all distances. I've been using the bottle only, no straw. I couldn't stand having one sticking up all the time. I do have the A2, but haven't quite been able to set it up to my liking (I'm rather particular though), so I just go with bottle only. Do know that the straw lays more flat on the A2 whereas the PD will stay up, iirc.

After reading and researching I think this too is what I will go with. Simple Bottle BTA with no straw and 2 bottles behind saddle.

As I'm about to log out, and go to work - I notice that I have an "inspire".

I click on it - and this is what it says.

"Hey what's up?"

I just want to say thanks to Judi for motivating me!  I know this was not her way of saying "Hi, how are you today?" but rather - "What the fach is up?  Your training logs are empty!!!  Get off your azz and start doing some work!!!"

It worked.  I have purchased a silver plan - and downloaded the Marathon Training Plan.

Thanks for remembering!  He DNF'd unfortunately.  He stopped after the first bike loop.  He got a sore throat the day they arrived and got progressively worse.  He was frozen after the swim.  His girlfriend said that she got soaked to the bone and dried out 3 times in 2 hours.  It would pour rain and then the blazing sun would come out, plus wind.  He ended up in bed with a chest cold Frown

Sorry for those that DQ'd, but nice to know there are some penalties handed out somewhere for littering!  Some races I think just about everyone could be, looking at all the gel wrappers all over.

Well, shyte. Double up the {MP} I sent you on FB ... maybe literally ... I like Stace Face's idea. Come to Perf!

Kingsley is going to buy me and another friend of his giant inflatable hamster balls to live in so we don't hurt ourselves so much. I'll tell him to order a third.

Ah schnap just got confirmation I'll be racing my first XC meet on Saturday.

*Actually, I need to decide what shoes I should wear. I'm not going to buy XC spikes/flats for now. I assume I probably want to run in whatever I have that is both light and has the most aggressive tread?

Not sure if anyone knows much about this or not.

I got my xc flats today and wow. I am not sure what I think, but I feel like I will run faster. They are tiny and light. I am a little nervous to run in them, actually.

Did you get them for xc or something else?
