Originally posted by brigby1 Sorry to go MIA for a few days. Only had my phone to use and really don't like trying to post from there. Raced Branson, switched from the half rev to the Aquabike due to the recent hip flare up and won that. They had tacos for post race food!

Congratulations!!!

Originally posted by Artemis Follow-up today: have to stay in the boot until I'm pain free 100% of the time.  I can work on transitioning myself out of the boot before my next appointment as pain allows.  I can swim (pull-buoy only) until I am pain free.  After that, I can aqua jog and bike in the boot.

Well, I was hoping for better news but fearing worse. At least you can hit the pool.

When is your next follow-up?

Switch, sorry to hear about your ankle, hope it is nothing too serious.

Jen, what's new with your possible new job?

Salty, you must be getting excited for YOUR new job!

Great job all you racers, I haven't checked out any RR, but Felicia, that is a pretty cool trophy.

Welcome to Kingsley, welcome back Nancy.

Jo, glad to hear things are headed in the right direction with your wrist/cast.

I think I can be taken off the DL for my foot, but kept on for my shoulder.  Grrrrrr!

Back to work, sigh!

I had a second phone interview last week.  They are trying to find a day that everyone is available for an in-person interview.

Oh, well this is good news!

Fingers crossed and all that jazz ;-)

Little boooooo to this one, but I'm really happy that you can still swim and that you have a plan for once you're pain free.

Well a weird/awkward thing just happened - I was sitting in my office minding my own business shooting the shyte with another attorney when my secretary said a corporal needed to see me. He came into my office and was obviously upset. As he started to speak he started to cry and had to keep stopping to try to compose himself. I mean it was the whole lip quivering, hand shaking, red eyed thing. Then the tears came which he in vain tried to wipe away. He came to apologize to me for wasting my time over an investigation. He didn't waste my time, but he didn't take my strongly worded hints that he handle the case a certain way rather than the way he was heading. Apparently, his chain of command didn't know what he was doing and as it involved a high profile entity they were not impressed with his course of action in ignoring my help. I assume they told him to apologize to me.Anyway, I feel horribly for the guy. My secretary said the tears were free flowing as he passed her desk on the way out. While he was in my office I had the urge to say something like, " oh honey it's ok, everything's going to be alright." All while giving him a hug. I've worked in law enforcement for a long time and that was a first for me - at least as it relates to people crying over work stuff, I have had a Lt. Cry to me over a personal issue and I did hug him. Now I need to call his chain and find out what the hell happened without letting them know about the crying.

Oh dear that doesn't sound good - make sure they keep an eye on him.

Had an okay run yesterday - slower than usual forgot myHRM so just kinda went slow!  Also needed a dreaded toilet break but the cemetery is the place - it has the best toilets EVER!

Had a meeting with my boss - worried i've got too much on so took a lot off my plate and im left with the fundamentals of business analysis.  It made me laugh i spend most of my days on here and Facebook!

Wrist very sore, looking forward to the cast today.

In other news - i have been looking for sponsorship for one of the young pro's i met at the HIM a couple of weeks back and i've got one!  Now i have to draw up a contract and sort out the deal.  Right now the kid needs cash not product though he'll get that anyway - this guy does organic supplements etc.

I have no idea about this stuff - it's going to be fun!  I figure right now he just needs enough cash to get him to a few races during the season.  He has a HIM in November already lined up (I sorted out free accommodation for him yesterday) so i'd like to get his air fare covered.

Then i'd like him to represent at Challenge Melbourne HIM but there's no World Champ points on offer - and really can he afford Canada anyway.  I will have a chat with him about that.  Then next May is Busselton Half and June is Cairns Half then Sunshine Coast again in September.  I think this boy has the potential of Terenzo.  I'm very excited - it's a like a little career sideline - unpaid for now but i'd like to turn it into a job at some point.

Over and out.

We have lots of resources for employees to get help, so that shouldn't be an issue. I think the issue is he is a new supervisor, thought he was taking initiative, but screwed up and got yelled at for it. He seems young and not toughened up yet, so he probably took things more personally then he should. But now you've got me worried about him!

OH YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!

Guess who's going to be getting their weekends off changed? I will be switching to Sundays/Mondays off from Tuesday/Wednesdays---Only problem? I don't know exactly when this starts (I am betting in November, but who knows?), and of course, it will mean that another coworker will have to switch their days off (cause I have the seniority...)--so I may be starting some "DRAMA". Whatever--I've worked there for nearly 7 years, and only didn't change my weekends due to school. I have earned this.

On another note, I took the husband to see World War Z tonight---For those who have seen it--the nifty "treatment" they try? I turned to Clint and said "my friend Yanti could TOTALLY pull this off--she's been sick with really nifty stuff" He agreed. Don't wanna spoil it for everyone who hasn't seen it, but if you ask I'll tell you all here. Smile
