Q: What is a Writebrained?

A: Someone who likes to write and someone who is right-brained (creative and a little disorganized).

I live in Bellingham and my first name is Spencer.   My mom wanted to name me Charles, because she like the name Chuck.  But that was when Charles Starkweather went on his killing spree.  .

Does anyone ever name their kid Orenthal James?

I was looking for a new online name to use at another site. I don't recall the exact train of searches but I was looking up fictional or fantastic names (related to fantasy) on google and dictionary.com and following up interesting leads, some leading to others. Micawber is a character created by Charles Dickens and, because of that character's outlook, it can also be used to refer to "an eternal optimist". I liked the connotation and it certainly applies to my tri training. I haven't read the book yet but I gather he was also a bit of a "colorful" character.

I'm blonde, extroverted, fun, a super hero and therefore Bubbles seemed like the perfect name/avatar.  (No the name has nothing to do with a stage name or big breasts - I go by Xena for my stage name..lol

Lots of back hair and an unhealthy interest in Star Wars. I have been using this name since I started BBSing in the late 80's so it made sense to keep it when I first went online in 92 - can't believe it has been so long my how things have changed - no Gopher client, no custom TCP/IP stack, no archie, no veronica I wonder how many people even know what Gopher space is anymore. As you can tell a geek what better name.

Couldn't think of anything at the moment of registering, and I have to say taht my bike is something that I just love. It is a thing of beauty. Yeah, yeah, yeah... I hear all that from my fiance, too. It is amazing how men can sensualize an inanimate mechanical object.

blah.

You guys are way more original than me.

Good Racing!

I've thought about starting to go by my middle name and I figured the best way to test it out was by using it as a screen name. My mom always called me Kanoe. It means beautiful and heavenly mist. My dad was in the Coast Guard and stationed in Hawaii when I was born.

Here's everybody with cutesy little names and you have to make a name that makes us all look intelectually inferior. If you synthesized a superconducting material, well then, you probably are. Wow. Good job... The only things I make are, well, crappy forum posts.

Anyway, I live in Mi, right over form SOuth Bend. I work in SB, and spend most my time there! My original intent was to tell you I was in your area, not break your balls. I am in engineering, so I find that stuff interesting.

line - 2005-06-30 7:04 PMMy name's Caroline but lots of people mistakenly me CaroLYN. I get real huffy about it, too (so don't try it). So when I was 12, I yelled something obscene to a teacher who had just called me Carolyn. I said something like"!@#$% ! It's LINE! Just LINE!" Luckily she had a good sense of humor, and started referring to me as "Line Just Line", which eventually was shortened to just Line. I still have friends calling me that 12 years later.

My daughter wrote an essay on this subject.  She titled it, "Note the Silent "E"."  The gist of it is to wonder and be amazed at how many people aren't familiar with how silent E's work in her name.

As an infant I used to call her "Line o' Mine."  I'm not allowed to call her that anymore.

As for my name, it was a D&D character's name I had back in the 70's and a nickname on "Twinkle", a pre-IIRC we had in the UMass/Five College network in the mid-eighties.  I just wanted to mention this because I check Wookie's geek credentials and raise him one.  :-)

I also go by Dally.  What I don't do is use my full name anymore, because now I have chlldren, a business, and at least one bizarre rabid stalker who scared the hell out of me on usenet.  I vastly regret using my real name on usenet in the early 90's.  Who knew about google?

Gwendal
