Pretty!

Thanks, guys! She is the baby and I'm trying to keep her small and cute, but she keeps growing!!

The stand up paddling is so relaxing, but also an awesome workout for the entire body. My back and upper arms are feeling it today!

Kim: I love squeezing and biting the little one. I know she won't let me do that anymore soon. Goodness, no, I didn't take her to wait 7 hours. That would have been torture! I felt really bad for the small children waiting there. A lot of the wait was outdoors in the hot sun.

Today's soccer Sunday, so I'll get some miles in during the game, but I'll start if off with an official warm up mile.

Hope you're all have a great weekend!

Great pics everyone, looks like a fun weekend!

I had a hectic Sunday, up at 5am to try to get a Uni assignment done - I made the unfortunate decision to enroll on a post grad uni cert course and 2 years later I've just completed the final assignment, time for a break....!

The kids had nippers (kids surf club/lifesaving training) after that and I spent 2 hours paddling around on a rescue board, then I was back at the beach for a 5 hour patrol as a volunteer lifesaver.

Managed to sneak a short run in on the beach followed by a short swim in the ocean, I'll sleep well tonight!

Hello peeps!  Got an 8 miler in today in the wind, cold, and snow--but it beat doing it on the treadmill!  I was a little pissy at the end though.  One of my cross country runners, Josey,  paces me every Sunday on my long runs.  Now, he's a 17 year old that consistently runs his 5K in 17 & under--so a long run with me is a walk in the park for him.  I've told him the last couple of miles of these long runs I really want to push the pace.  So, today, at the 6 mile point I started upping my pace.  I was running really hard, he's chattering away while I'm laboring away, we get about 1/2 mile from my truck and he looks at me and says 'oh, we forgot to pick up the pace--should we sprint the rest?'  I could barely get out the words "I...picked...it...up...a mile...and...half ago...!"  Ah to be 17 again...!  Wait, I remember me at 17--I'll take the 41 year old me!

K, I know I am late to the party but I fit the requirements so I figure I might as well join. I joined a little facegroup group from the local running store just doing it for December but I looked at my logs and it looks like I have been running since the 24th so what the hay.

Anyways, good work everyone so far. I got another 301k to do before the end of the year to hit my mileage goal so looking forward to grinding that out over the next 27 days.

Little worried about a couple days. The 25th for instance. My inlaws have a treadmill so I might be able to sneak a mile that day. The 23rd is also a concern, we host a party that day so convincing my wife that I should get out for a run may be a bit of a chore. I know it is only a mile...

Those are my concerns, too. We will be vacationing in California, where I don't know routes, and I might not have a treadmill. But if I have to run up and down the halls of the hotel for 15 minutes, I guess I'll just do that. lol

Kim -- I loved your 8 mile run story. Don't you hate youth sometimes?

I went out for a 3-4 mile run and ran 5.15 miles. I could have kept going, but since I told my husband I would be just 30-45 minutes, and I was pushing an hour, I decided I had better call it good.

I've noticed a difference in running every day -- I've run for the last 10 or 11 days (my streak started the day before Thanksgiving). A month ago, it would take me about a mile or mile and a half to feel warmed up and ready to go. Lately, like this past week, it seems like it takes no time at all, and my legs feel good, my breath is regulated, and I'm sailing along (well, okay, I don't exactly "sail," but you know).

Has anyone else noticed a change?

Just a 2km run off the bike trainer tonight, had just done the 30min LT test (Jorge's bike plan) so I was pretty tired but the run felt great.I need to do a few longer runs but I've been struggling for time recently with so many things going on!

Tomorrow's a real run day so I'll get some intervals done

Great job, guys!

Felicia: Definitely notice that it's easier to get a run started. The rickety feeling isn't there for the first couple miles as it normally is. Legs are feeling, looking stronger too!

I've been getting my miles in pretty much one at a time. So much focus on biking and swimming lately because they're my weaknesses. I'm considering a 1k swim this weekend, part of a swim challenge of a bunch of different distances. 1k is the shortest. Wish is was 1/2 a k, haha! Not sure though because everyone will likely be "swimmers", and I don't want them to laugh at me. Embarassed We'll see how I feel throughout the week swimming at the pool.

Keep it up, guys! Oh, and feel ya on the difficulty eating right. I feel like I've been eating since Thanksgiving, even though the choices are a lot healthier than they'd usually be.

Ran 4.25 miles this afternoon before everyone got home from school/work. I think I've finally warmed up. It was a cold one. There was even a little snow. That was fun.

I planned to do intervals tonight but after just one my legs were telling me NO!!! I think it's from my LT trainer ride last night.

Anyway, I told myself to just continue to make it an easy 5km and then started to feel good and ended up running 12km

12 days and counting!...I haven't run yet today.

Saturday I ran a 1/2 and came in under 2 hours, a mark I haven't hit in a couple of years.  It felt great, but I was really sore after.  Sunday and Monday runs were painful.  I got a massage yesterday after my run, so hopefully I should be bouncing back.

While I was out running yesterday, our dogs apparently toppled our Christmas tree that we put up Sunday.  Complete chaos erupted as I was already running late for the massage appointment.  Tree, ornaments, water on the floor and tinsel-type stuff.  It looked like the Grinch had paid a visit.  I think I'm going to set up what remains of the Christmas tree outside.

Is your schedule getting more hectic too?

That is always my goal...I'll take anything under 2:00--usually it's right around 1:58ish--but I'll take it!

To answer your question....YES!  'Tis the season.  I'm trying to keep my usual schedule--both training and eating--to the best of my ability, but realize the month of December is always a little wonky!

One of our tree toppled the other day too, courtesy of Brutus, our 80 pound puppy.  Good times!
