Anyhow, a little about myself. I am 29 married father of three, from ages 4 years to 6 month. Got into endurance sports about 4 years ago after my first child was born in attempts to be a healthier and happier father. Since then I have done two half marathons, one marathon, few 5k's, one olympic tri, and two half irons. I really have not done much racing in the past year or so because of career commitments and ballancing three children. Most of my training is done between 430am and 530am Monday through Friday. Hoping to do some more racing some day but does not look like it is going to happen anytime soon. Untill I will set short term goals and continue to strength train and just become as healthy as possible without interferring with my family or career.
Feel free to friend me and shoot me some inspires i do not have many active BT friends. |

Not sure if I will get in another run this week or not. But with the pace rabit anyhow. Are we suppose to enter the info on that page? If so how do you save? Feel free to friend me and shoot me some inspires i do not have many active BT friends. I mis-stated some things and then I didn't explain others real well. Sorry about that. I'll repost the info - hopefully correct - and then answer some questions. The spreadsheet can be used to save Erin from gathering the info weekly. I also like the spreadsheet because it's a "feel good" thing for me because it lets me know where I should be and where I am. If you want to enter every time you run, that's fine or you can enter weekly, monthly, etc. For me, I enter everything in the my BT log as soon as I complete it (because I'll forget otherwise). Then weekly or so, I select Training Log, Yearly, Actual, and it gives me my mileage for the year. Then I can go to the spreadsheet and just enter one number. I tried to make the spreadsheet goal-dependent (like for time goals vs mileage goals or for BigDh's big goal) but it was just too much for me to figure out so I just set it at 1000 miles for the year since that is the name of the thread. link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0An7ZkKfHG1L1dGZnamsyaVVadHllQmRGMXhNYk5tTnc Login: [email protected] Password: challengeforum2 I would suggest adding to your favorites and usually it doesn't ask for the login and password every time. To update, enter your total mileage next to your login. You may have to move off of the cell for the info to commit. But then exit the spreadsheet and the info is automatically saved. If any new people show up and their info isn't calculated or they aren't reflected in the graph, we may have to adjust the grid selection - I'm not sure, we'll just have to see about that. Any other questions about the spreadsheet, PM or send an inspire to me and I'll try to help. I'm new to all of this but in Nov I got involved with a challenge with a spreadsheet and I learned from it. --- Ok, info about me. 50 y.o. wife (to KWDreamun) and mother. Began running 3 years ago and did my first tri 3 months ago. I've done 10 HM, 3 marathons, 2 ultras, and 1 sprint tri. I have plans to do a local marathon in Feb and I hope it will be my last marathon for a long time. I just enjoy the HMs so much more and I want to learn to do tris and move away from the distance running. Right now my run totals are high but they will drop very, very signficantly during the summer. I'm sure that I'll be working my butt off Oct, Nov, and Dec to get to the 1000 mile mark. I've been in some other challenges with Kate, Bill, and Scott and their challenges are what make me more accountable and focused; otherwise I miss the mark. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: 1 year, 1000 miles Hi everyone. I think I am going to back out of this challenge, at least for the time being. My injury isn't coming along as quickly as I would like, and I am having a hard time finding the time to be in the pool aquajogging for the time I would need. If by some miracle I am back out on the road sooner rather than later, I will rejoin. Good luck to everyone!! |

If by some miracle I am back out on the road sooner rather than later, I will rejoin. Good luck to everyone!! So sorry about your injury and I hope you recover well. Just focus on recovering and then when you are well, ease back into a safe plan. But still come over and join us here and let us know how you are doing. Bill, I must admit that I "borrowed" the idea of the pacer from another site. So I took the current date, calculated how many days into the year, multiplied by 2.74 per day, and then when I found the graphing function, I was a happy camper. Can you tell that I can be a major geek? I'm a systems analyst and all of us in our office think that we are pretty normal and not the stereotypical computer people but then on some things...well. Don't even ask me about light switches. For the others, don't worry about falling behind the pacer right now. Many of you do most of your training spring, summer, and fall and will catch back up then. Here in Florida tho, we do a lot of our training winter and spring so I'm gonna start really getting behind in the summer. |

Kristin - sorry you're not healing as you want to but we understand. Take care of yourself and we will see you around. I think this is starting to work for me. Knowing that there is a pace bunny going no matter whether I work out or not is definitely keeping me going. Also knowing that other people are here doing the same thing - works for me. I was going to keep this in my hat for a few months and see if I actually did it before announcing it to the world. I'm glad I didn't. I imagine I would have missed more than a few workouts by now. Hope everyone is doing well and happy miles! |

The Columbia Triathlon and Iron Girl (with my daugthers). It is a nice area to race. Some good hills on the bike and runs. The Columbia Tri is a pretty big race with very stiff competition. Have to rack bikes on Saturday due to size. I did figure out how to enter my mileage. Forgot that I had to sign in under [email protected]. That did the trick! |

Love to see that there are so many of us of a certain age. But it's nice to have the youngster here too. Welcome to our new guy! Report in here and if you can, enter your info on the spreadsheet too. I'm slow too.

I'm running (and I use that term loosely...) 11:30-12 minute miles right now. oof. No matter, 30 minutes is 30 minutes regardless of how far I go. Not like I'm in a hurry to get there when training anyway, I just run 1/2 way, turn around and run back. Who cares how far I go? On the upside, I have had no soreness and each run ends feeling better than when I started. They say speed will come, I guess we'll see in a few months. welcome to the 1000 mile quest. |

NORCAL - that's the EXACT same boat that I'm in. Trying to stay in Z2 has me at about the same pace you referenced and it's a struggle because it feels so slow. But your point is a good one and I also have had no soreness, just a little when I add in some stretches of good speedwork, etc - then I can definitely feel it the next day. I came to running fairly late in life and I guess at 45 I shouldn't expect to be a speed demon, but I echo your "oof". It's gotta get better at some point! |
