Stage 7 this morning, 31.5 miles. Last ride of greated than 20 before my Half on the 21st. Getting close and getting nervous.

How is everyone else doing.

Just got back after a few days in the Bunya Mountains, I took my bike and trainer with me and got a couple of Trainer Road workouts done looking out over the view of the Darling Downs! First time I've used a trainer outdoors but it worked out great. Nice and cool and a light wind.

Short easy ride in my neighborhood for # 5......going out later for another one to get my goals caught up.  Sheesh, 1 week left on this challenge and I feel completely out of it.

Alright, I want to thank everyone for delaying their Tour talk for a day, but it is not necessary anymore if you want to go back to speaking about it right after the Stage. I am two stages behind and we leave Wed. Morning to travel to Racine, so yall's conversation will be about the only way I know what's going on in the Tour. Thanks again.

looks like I have 84 miles out of my original goal of 225 to go and a week to do it...I'm behind on Stages, but my mileage looks good - so we'll see...

for those who have done this before, if you reach your time goals/mileage, before you reach your stage goal is that kosher? trying to figure it out

Well, I'm probably done.  I tweaked my knee last week and will likely not be getting back on the bike this week.

Good luck!

I was wondering what was going on because you were straight and steady and then it seemed to almost stop. Get better and heal up quickly.

It doesn't really matter, you just have to get in the total stages you set and the total miles / minutes that you set. If you have to do an extra stage to get you miles or vice versa, then that is what you have to do. Another words, If you have your mileage but are 1 Stage short, then you go out for a 15 minute ride (min. stage length) and just add the miles as a plus.

That should be clear as Mud, you're welcome

sounds about right...clear as mud is a good description...ok - so I need to just go and do a bunch of short 15 minute segments this week and then a couple of long rides and i'll be good...

its supposed to be high 90's/100's all this week - so I'll probably just focus on gym time and the spin bike...too damn hot

I'm from one of the other teams, but I've already exceeded my goal mileage, so what I decided to do was get my remaining stages in and not worry about bumping the mileage goal.

Just did 15 minutes on the trainer tonight for stage 8 with no mileage calculated. I will do Stage 9 Sunday for 56 Miles, which will put me over 100% anyhow. I now have to pack up and leave tomorrow for my first Half, excited and nervous.

Stage 10 done, I'm doing the 40k TT plan on Trainer Road and its TOUGH! 14 x 1 min hard intervals tonight. I followed it with a short brick run with my 10 year old and the puppy.

If we're now allowed to talk about the TdF what does everyone think about Froome? I find it very hard to believe that Sky would dope, they seem too much of a national institute of sport type team to get into that BUT how is he so much stronger than the others and how does he get performances that beat those of known dopers??? Confusing....

did 2 10 mile sets last night with approx 25 minutes in between - so claiming 2 stages

Stage 7 - 10.48 miles - 38 min (went out really fast and then died on the second half)
Stage 8 - 10.48 miles - 40 min (tried for a more steady pace the entire way through)

I threw in a 2 mile run between my 2 sets, but yeah...it was more like a walk/jog - a jalk or a wog...not sure which

counting my spin class as stage 9 - cause of the sadistic instructor

Stage 9 - 15.3 miles/47 minutes - we did lower RPM (70-90) and high tension (70-90%) of the class
