Welcome Jen and Karen.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to our friends up north.

You found us!  That's the important thing!

What's up with the (potential) road trip?

We leave Saturday when I am done volunteering at a local ultra and DH is done at church.  I figure we'll pull in to Groton sometime Monday and squeeze in a couple days of adventure with DS2 before we fly home on Wednesday. The cool part is we'll be there for DS2's 25th birthday.

Smooth is the name of the game when it comes to intestines, isn't it?! Thanks, Chris

And THANK YOU, TJ!

Wow!  Are you driving straight through?

It's really nice that you'll be there for his birthday!  How is he liking Groton?  Did he get out of Charleston before the epic rains?

We aren't driving straight through but we will be putting in looong days driving.  DS2 got out as the rains were starting. Fortunately there were no issues with his flight. He hasn't seen much of Groton yet other than the base.  We'll do some exploring when we get there. He's looking forward to visiting Boston and NYC once he has his car.

I am not training for anything right now but trying to keep up some consistency to keep the stress and fluff off.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving - we celebrated today by enjoying the amazing weather (thunderstorm is rolling in right now) - we had an awesome family turkey dinner yesterday!

I'll poke in tomorrow!

Have a good night!

Jen

I'm pretty sure you WERE a Manatee at one point (which means you still are).

Or maybe we were just good blog friends, but I think you were a Manatee. And you squeezed out a kid.

Weeeellll, upon noticing this was a new lagoon to splash in, I read the last "few" pages of the old thread. (yeah yeah, it's been that long)

-Seems the last month has been particularly rough for many Podmates. I hope you are all finding strength and healing.

-Cider is GOOD!

-Nothing named butterfly should be in the water. You ever see what happens to a butterfly trapped in the water????

-There are some really awesome racers in this group! Congratulations on your latest accomplishments

the one and only time I will ever beat Yanti in a tri swim was the one where she was going to do fly the whole way. It was a 750m ocean swim and it wasn't exactly pancake flat (and I didn't beat her in by much)

thinking of your Gran Laura. Hopefully she is well out of surgery by now.
To give you some hope my 80 year old (at the time) PA had a similar thing a few years ago he made a complete recovery, it took some time but he got better.

Any of you Southwesterners familiar with Monument Valley?  The 50k there looks like an amazing adventure.

Looks amazing, I'm drooling just over the directions it gives
"GETTING HERE:

Are you ready to see some beautiful country? It is about 6 hours from Phoenix to Monument Valley, but a quick side trip to the Grand Canyon half way along the route might make traveling this route worth your time.

The approach from Salt Lake City is about 6 hrs 45 min but the route passes through Moab, Arches, and Canyonlands about half way through the trip. A 7 hour drive from Las Vegas takes runners near Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks as well as the Grand Staircase National Monument and Lake Powell.

Albequerque, NM is just over 5 hours away.

An 8 hour drive from Denver would take you over the Rocky Mountains and through Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, and Mexican Hat. Looping back through Mesa Verde National Park and through the San Juan mountains would make for one of the most scenic road trips ever."

Saying that, the whole series looks amazing

Haven't been, but does look interesting to spend at least a day or two in. If longer ends up not being as appealing, half the state of Utah is a National preserve of some type or other.

My niece Sarah is grown up now. She is modeling and here is a picture of a shoot that is in this month's issue of Avant Garde.  She is the blonde in the middle.
