Veteran 1677 Houston, Texas | Subject: RE: Work your Weakness aka "Hey, Mike, STFU!" Challenge Originally posted by dtoce Originally posted by switch since I've been doing triathlon over the last 3 years, my running volume has dwindled...my peak month since I stopped 'running' has been 116 miles in a month and I want to beat it selfish, but I need help for motivation Dale, what is the significance of 117 miles? Marathon peak month? Sounds like a good goal! I'll be following along, but I won't be running 117 miles....that would be too big of a jump for me, but I hope to be there soon. I'm sitting at right about 20 miles/week. I think it's time for some new shoes....one of my pairs needs to be retired. Will be going to the LRS this weekend to see what I can find. Looking for something with a little more cushion, but nothing crazy (i.e. no Hokas -- tried them and didn't care for them). |

324 | Subject: RE: Work your Weakness aka "Hey, Mike, STFU!" Challenge And is it time for a new 2 week weakness? I think this two week is nutrition. Swimming and running are going pretty well, so I'd better eat better to support them! Laying off cookies and extra chips/unhealthy snacks. Eat better, smarter. Nancy, I'm impressed with your consistency and the fact that you can go from a swim workout to running outside in a VT winter. That requires some HTFU for sure. Nice! |

324 | Subject: RE: Work your Weakness aka "Hey, Mike, STFU!" Challenge Got a run in today! Didn't actually have to dadge any snowplows but I was very careful. We got about 6 inches of snow, the roads were slippery. Here is the pic of the road I was running: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37201105@N04/11389081655/ |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Work your Weakness aka "Hey, Mike, STFU!" Challenge I had a great race!!!! The course was SO tough. About 2-3 minutes off PR type of course. It was very, very competitive so I feel pretty good about being something like the 200th fastest club xc unner in the nation ill certainly give more details later as I am terribly hungover. Got some fun shenanigans to share. We may or may not have stolen a brew cycle (look it up) and ridden it through the awards banquet... |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Work your Weakness aka "Hey, Mike, STFU!" Challenge That's my teammate/friend Joe in the orange on the left who eventually went on to win the whole thing! Also, this photo is VERY telling of the course. I'll be 20-25 people DNFed in each individual race due to the conditions. |

Master 10208 Northern IL | Subject: RE: Work your Weakness aka "Hey, Mike, STFU!" Challenge Originally posted by Asalzwed Alright, here is my RACE REPORT Noticed who some of your teammates were. Mike Sayenko was actually on a team as part of another site I was on before. Incredible speed. Wasn't able to follow as much as he had some really persistent injuries during that time. Just would not go away. Mostly ended up riding a bunch in the hopes of maintaining some fitness. Was able to pull things together for that 2:14 in the Chicago marathon, which I actually got to see with a few of the fast guys running there. Has he been able to run more consistently again? |

I held with the "runner" triathletes for the first 10k and attacked some just to keep it interesting. I'm a lot closer to them now than I have been. Next season should be interesting. |
