Damn, our secret is out!  It was in London, too.

The only thing wrong with this is the necessity of a Canadian passport. Foiled again!

Gah - I've been away entirely too long!  These work people are making me do *GASP* work, which is just mean.

 - There really aren't any words TJ - I wish I could do more, but I'll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.  ((hugs))

- Snow Day!  I wish we had a snow day here, but all we seem to get is bitterly cold and then it warms up to the point where it can snow a couple of inches and then it gets bitterly cold again.  I'd much rather be home snuggling with the cute fuzzy kittehs.

- I can't believe they outed our beer fridge!  I don't even drink/like beer, but I'd have one just because this is so gosh darned cool.

- Stacey, I hope the change in diet helps!  We did the paleo thing all of last year, and I'm sloooowwwwwly getting Tony back on board.  I just felt SO much better without eating all of the processed stuff, and less sugar can only be good for you, right?

To all the Manatees - please go hug your loved ones and remember to tell them you love them.

Good thing I have Canadian friends. Y'all would scan your passport for me wouldn't ya?

Speaking of, who doesn't love Alex Bilodeau. I found myself slipping back to my college days, singing  O Canada...

I'm  pulling for the US in men's and women's hockey but I wouldn't be mad to see the ladies of Canada's after party on ice again. I wonder if they can get Moleson in Sochi?

He and his entire family are too cool. I agree on the hockey, but if the Canucks beat the US in women's, the party may be, um, a bit much. Either way, it should be a good game.

Anyone that can drink beer and eat poutine like you do deserves to be an honorary Canadian and be able to have a scanned passport - I got yer back on this one!

Bilodeau's whole family is amazing and inspiring

Sorry, but when it comes to hockey, I can only cheer for Canadia... I wonder if they had some Molson shipped in??

Well I'm back at my desk playing catch-up. I'm supposed to do a swim/run tonight at the gym but don't have time for both if I'm going to make it to the "kick-off" party for one of the local races. I'd rather just run but I didn't swim at all last week. I hope I don't lose all my swimming progress.  Not sure I even want to do the race that the party is for?! They don't have the route on line so I have to go to the *&^% party to see if I even want to do the race! I've done it in the past but they changed the venue. I was whining on the NM forum about our lousy options for local races this year. I just don't feel motivated to train for them. I thought about just doing running races and TT's but then I think about the swim gains I've made in the last few weeks. sigh.

/pout

On a happier note... before last week went completely wacko we were able to get a new (to him) bike for DS2 that actually fits him!

TJ, we have a simple rule of making NO decisions in the 2 weeks after life changing events and all feelings of unhappiness are valid. I believe that includes pouting. I think that you qualify for this rule, so if you don't want to race, don't race. But run a bit anyway, you'll feel better if you do. And swim any chance you get. But don't plan out your upcoming season for a couple of weeks.

BTW, DS2's new bike looks SA_WEET, but a bit uncomfortable

Ha funny! We went immediately and retrieved DS2s saddle and pedals and went to my bike guy for a fit. DS2 loves it!

While I will agree that Molson Canadian is NOT my first choice, it is still infinitely better than some of the yellow water that passes for beer in the US.

Okay Manatees, I am back! I am feeling much, much better this week - like 1000x better than I did last week! I made it to the gym today after work for a swim and some weight training and I feel great. My bad shoulder was giving me some issues during the swim, which doesn't normally happen but I figure it was probably because I fell on it. A little PT should help it get back to normal.

Question: How much weight training do you typically do during a week, if any at all?

I have lots of catching up to do on what's going on with everyone! Hope everyone has a great week.

Ashley,

Hi.  I love strength training and I fit in 3 hours a week on average--but I like short to international distance racing because I like all the cross training and hate putting months into training for one day (to  have that one day fall to crap)   People will do what they want and can.

Manatees, I am in need of a group hug. My mother is in the hospital and they found a mass on her pancreas.  We don't have pathology back yet--but the physicians assistant  indicated to my nephew that it is likely cancerous.  Her health is lousy to begin with so she is not a great surgical candidate.....I am going to FaceTime with Mom and my nephew over the weekend so we can discuss her long term care wishes and such....
