I'm in too and looking forward to making some gains on the bike.  I'll be part of the HRM/RPE group.  Thanks Jorge!

This would be perfect to help me on my limiter - the bike...  Sign me up for the HR/RPE group....

Is there a start time? I'm giving myself a month off or so since the season ran long this year...

Just finished shoring up my swim and run plans for the off season.  I was wondering exactly what I wanted to do on the bike.  This should work right into the schedule.  Thanks!

akrenik - 2009-10-18 6:16 PM Now with my first two sprint tris behind me I need to get stronger on the bike.  I am excited for the help.  I see everyone saying they will do this program on a trainer.  I don't have one.  Do I need it or can I ride outside (sunny SoCal)?  Also, what is a PM?  Bottom line...I have a bike and it has some type of computer thing on it that tells me my speed/miles.  What else do I need?

Excited to try!

I don't see anyone having answered these so I'll try:

PM is power meter.  Many of us don't have this, me included - it's mainly a cost thing.  Having one would be great but not required since Jorge is graciously including an HR/RPE version of the plan.

I think having a heart rate monitor would be helpful if not required.  This is probably a good thing for you to have anyway as it allows you to be neurotic about something.   But truthfully, a heart rate monitor is very useful in zone training and pacing.

I would think training outdoors would be possible though more difficult with hills, interruptions, lights, turns, and it might be difficult to focus on the road while vomiting, etc.

I could be down with this. Count me in. RPE based, possibly HR, but most likely not.

Lets see:

Bike - check

Trainer _ check

HRM - check

music - check

VOMIT BUCKET - I knew I was forgetting something...

Great, I was in until I saw this.  Tongue out  I'm looking forward to this actually.  I was struggling with figuring out what to do with the trainer and yet still improve the bike.

I'd like to jump in on the HRM side. Will be using rollers, hopefully those will work for this program. If not, I can snag a trainer.

Now what does it mean to be in?  Will you PM us the workouts for the week? Do we check a specific post weekly?

This is so much appreciated.  The bike was my big limiter last year and this should help my performance immensely.

Your skillset may be different than mine, but I would not recommend doing these workouts on your rollers.
