Just saying, but Little Debbie does NOT make the Moon Pie. They produce an far more inferior product called the Chocolate Marshmallow Pie. :P What's interesting, though, is that the Moon Pie Co. is located in Chattanooga. IMChoo question, though...did Little Debbie provide after race snacks?? Like could you go to he Athlete Village and down a couple Zebra Cakes, an Oatmeal Cream Pie, a Honey Bun and throw a few Pecan Spinwheels in your pocket?? |

I have run a 10k race in NC call moonshine and moon pies where they do supply moon pies for after race snacks. The race cost about 10$ to enter, so im Sure a race that costs a billion times more will have all the snacks |

For Moon Pie, you have to go to the the Moon Pie General Store. X |

![]() | ![]() I might be a Northern gal but even I know Moon Pies are meant to be consumed with RC Cola, I think it might be some sort of unwritten Southern law, at least according to my in-laws! Random thought: every time I see Little Debbie, I think of the song "Camel Walk" by Southern Culture on the Skids - at one point during the song the lead singer, Rick, interjects, "Little Debbie, Little Debbie"! If you haven't listened to the song or the group, I'd recommend it for fun listening - they are great live, too, true entertainment! They hail from Chapel Hill, NC. |

While consuming one's Moon Pie and RC Cola, one must use the phrase "Bless your heart" to those not eating the same items. I may not be psychic, however I know at some point in this conversation two things will happen. 1) Taste comparisons between Little Debbie snacks and Tasty Cake snacks. 2) The merits of the uniquely southern treat Goober Pies will be mentioned. |

![]() | ![]() I have never eaten ANY of the aforementioned snacks! More so because I am allergic to the ingredients, but also because they don't look the least bit appetizing to me. Am I alone? |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Actually, no. I think I may have had RC Cola a few times as a kid, but if I did, it was not by choice and I have never repeated the experience. In my case it's not allergies or anything--I really, truly don't like most sweet stuff. Southern BBQ--now that is a different story! |

As a child i had little debbie's swiss rolls, cup cakes and nutty buddies, but much preferred the drake company products of yankee doodles and yodels. But the best for these type of products are Tastykake's cupcakes, snowballs and swiss rolls!! The last time i had any of these items was when visiting Philadelphia about 14 years ago. Tastykake is a Philly company, so the place was lousy with the stuff; i had to do my part to support the local economy, so was forced to eat quite a number of cupcakes. It was sad And now Chris can claim ESP! Edited by amd723 2018-06-07 12:57 PM |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I’ll confess to the occasional Swiss Roll craving. More than I’d care to admit I have to talk myself out of buying them. |

Cue the jingle, "Nobody bakes a cake as tasty as a Tastycake". Yup, I'm prejudiced, I'll admit it. While I do like Little Debbie's oatmeal pies, Tastycake otherwise takes the cake (ba dum tss!) for me. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Okay...a serious nutrition question (NOT that I don't think Twinkies, Ho-Hos, Oatmeal Cream Pies and Snowballs are an incredible food group), but how many of you take BCAAs? I'm partway through Stacy Sims' book, "Roar," and apparently, I should be taking them. When I mentioned it to my exercise physio, he reacted like it was scandalous that I don't already take them. I'm also perimenopausal (hot flashes are AMAZING when it's 94 degrees outside), which, it seems, makes them more important. Soooo...if you take them, which do you like? I'd prefer something I can mix with water for faster absorption. Edited by glfprncs 2018-06-07 5:11 PM |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Nope, don't do any "athletic" supplements and don't plan to. Just a daily multivitamin, iron and calcium as recommended by my doctor. I mainly take the multi as often it is hard to get whole grains here; B vitamin and iron deficiencies are common, at least with locals. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Originally posted by glfprncs I take a Mega Vit B complex and super strength CoQ10 daily on the advice of a biochemist/nutritionist as they both help with energy production and cell repair. I also take magnesium in the form of tissue salts. I mainly take this for cramps as I get them regularly mostly at night and regardless of the level of exercise I do. Magnesium is also very very good for alleviating the symptoms of menapause and most women on the planet are deficient in it as it is no longer present in high levels in our soils and therefore not in our food. Haven’t taken them this training session. No reason other than I never think of it. I’m not sure if they helped or not BUT I began my training healing from a serious hamstring injury that kept me on the DQ from everything but swimming without kicking for about 4 months. I did not suffer any set backs or have any injury despite a heavy training load. |

I eat SO many fruits, veggies and incredibly nutrient-rich foods since I discovered how well my body reacts to a Whole30 type of diet, I have a hard time believing I need something extra and as pricey as a supplement. I could be blissfully ignorant, but my blood work has come back with gold stars for the last 4 years, so I have no reason to look into anything. I will caveat saying that I did recently start taking collagen supplements, it's definitely a Whole30 cult thing. Undecided on if it's worth it, but I'm mainly interested in the hair and skin benefits, not for athletic performance or anything. Edited by lisac957 2018-06-08 9:48 AM |
