That wasn't very nice Robin (but a good point!) I heard the pool will be closed the rest of the month

Well, they do have Diana on their team who has been at 100% forever.

Another 25 minutes for the swim team.
I was suppose to be at the pool at 5:30 this morning but instead I was just rolling out of bed. I got 25 minutes in.
I rather show up late and swim less than not show up at all. I wouldn't have gotten a swim in later.

Thanks, it was my first half marathon. I was so proud I made it training by myself in the cold over the winter months outside.

without Diana, the swimmers are at 55, bikers 54.99. So essentially a tie.

I am so proud of myself. I was so inconsistent in my swimming, I made no progress. I swam once a week and sometimes I would add a second swim but never consistently. Then I only swam once a week over the summer even though I was suppose to be following my "swim zero to one mile program".

Since starting this challenge, I have swam 3x a week. If I am late for swim class or my swim group, I go anyway instead of rolling over in bed like I use to.
The improvement in my swim and endurance this month is so noticeable I could kick myself for not sticking with it last year.

I am looking forward to what I my progress will be by the end of the month.

Do you consider swimming 1650 yards a mile?
I know that's what Olympic and International competition uses.
However, 1 mile in yards is 1760, so most pools round to 1800 or 72 lengths.

For your workouts, do you base it on a race mile of 1650 yards or an actual mile of 1760 or the rounded pool mile 1800 yards?

Since I've been racing and entering data into a training blog on BT, I guess I don't think about the distance in miles anymore. I just enter yards into the log.

I enter everything in yards as well. However, I also use Runkeeper to track my workouts. In turn it auto syncs to my food journal (myfitnesspal).
Anyway, Runkeeper and a lot if not most programs deal in miles. I have to enter my distance as a percentage of the a mile.

Determining what that mile is, is what I am trying to figure out.

LaughingIt's great to hear the swimming's coming along so well, Lovey.  It's a great positive feedback cycle: enjoy it more, do it more, enjoy it more...

The Boulder Peak bike course is legendary. It is, literally and named as such, one of the toughest bike legs in the country.
