WE SOLD OUR HOUSE

That's great news! Congratulations, Suzy!

ETA: oh, and no racing for me. Good luck to everyone who is racing - have fun!! Haven't made plans for the weekend yet, other than maybe helping some friends spread mountains of mulch. And swimming in my nice quiet lane at the pool!

Congrats Suzy!  I know from personal house selling experiences, sitting around waiting for a buyer can be very stressful.

pretty cool pic from the start.  and that's only about 1/3 of us.  i think i'm just in front of the paddle board on the left.

edit... purple is female.  green is male.  orange is challenged athlete though i don't see any in this pic.

GET READY SOON TO BE IRONPEEPS AND REPEAT OFFENDERS!!!

OMG this pic scares the living daylights out of me!!! its like the running of the bulls in water!!!

Yes!  And every single one of those arms looks 3x the size of my little toothpicks!!!  OMG is right!

I'm having CDA flashbacks. Last year I was not worried one itty bitty bit about the swim. After going through 1:05 of total body-beating, I will honestly say I am sort-of dreading it this year. The eternal optimist in me is hoping that maybe it won't be as bad as I remember. And I might try starting in the first row this year (last year I did second) to see if maybe I can find open water for a few seconds here and there. Wishful thinking, I'm sure...

I have two things to say.....

First.....For Kim's sake,  IM WI does look like that, but that is the front 1/3 of the pack....waddle back to where I started and it is much less intense.  Even with the double loop.  If it was a single loop course, I would assume it would clear out even more.....

Second.....WE SOLD OUR HOUSE

AWESOME!!!!  CONGRATS!!!!

yes, it settled down a bit.  but you know,  it never really did clear out as much as i thought it would.  but it was a whole lot of fun!!

not sure what kyla is worried about.  its just a beach start.       ha.

WOOOOOOT!!!! Congratulations, Suzy! That was fast! What a relief! Now you can relax. A little.

"Just a beach start," eh?? Supposedly those are the most dangerous. Mass stampede. Crazy.

Kyla- It's not the same course, only one out and back instead of two thankfully, but it travels along a lot of the same course including that hill.

Suzy- CONGRATULATIONS! Now can you send some buyers to Montana to buy my house. Its been on the market since October.

WOO-HOO! Another weekend is nearly upon us and you know what that means!  Who is doing a little splish-splash, pedal, run action? I know of at least one chica....who's sporting some shoes for a speedy run?  Tell us all about it, including your strategy!

For the rest of us sideliners, what's on tap for the Holiday weekend?

No racing.  Heading to my 20th college reunion.

You went to 20 colleges?

You barely come around here to visit any more and that's all you got???  You gotta step it up!

LOL, race tonight 2nd to last lap I get mad we are going so slow so I go to the front and lead the last lap and a half.  Stupid, stupid, stupid... Used up all my energy dragging everyone around so when we got to the hill right before the finish I shot out the back in a blink of an eye.  Should have just sat there going slow and waited for the last hill and used up all my energy there for the finish.

Was super cool all the Cat 1/2/3 guys on my team were sitting there watching me roll in solo off the back of the main group, not my best day of racing.

Guess that's why you do training races to get the stupid stuff out of the way before the real races, though I think this pace was faster than any of the other bike races I have done, and it was in the "C" race which had some good guys but lots of race what you brung guys.

Me - Showing off Penny and Telly to their former owners. They haven't spoken to me since December, since we adopted them. They seem to want to visit them now.  Got a little B-day party to go to on Saturday. That's it.     As for the SBR - just getting my groove back, and probably will do a bike on Sunday.

No racing for me this weekend. Will head up to Colorado Springs to pick up my new bike with a small dilemma. i have been waiting for 6 or 7 weeks and no word when the QR Seduza was going to arrive. I finally got impatient and ask if there was another alternative and so they ordered me a Cannondale Slice 5 and were going to cancel the QR Seduza. Lo and behold the I got a call on Monday telling me the QR had arrived and the Cannondale will be Wednesday. So now I have a choice to make on which one Saturday. Any Suggestions?

On Sunday my youngest has his first swim meet of the year been excited about that all week.

Congrats on selling the house, Suzy!

No racing for me.  I've got a nursery to put together as we are less than a month out.  Looking forward to a couple of good runs and possibly renting a bike for a few hours.

tritiny - 2011-05-25 2:52 PM The local bike shop has a 2010 Cervelo P3 for $2700.  Is this a good deal? I keep telling myself I don't need it.  I can ride my Cervelo S2 until I wear it out. But I keep going back to the shop on lunch hours to lust at the P3.

I can't say whether it's a good deal or not because the only tri bike in our house is Ryan's, and we got it for a steal since it was a Lemond that they were trying to get rid of.  HOWEVER, if you want it, and have the money, I'm a big advocate of spending said money!  Laughing  The second I graduate from law school and get a paid job, I'm buying a SpeedConcept 7.2.  It's already been decided!

Kyla - I never commented on your daughter's race, but truly, you are a phenomenal mom!  I wish my mom had done stuff like that with me.  She will remember it forever!

Suzy - GREAT NEWS!  Congrats!

John - That pictures scares me so much!  I won't be ready for that for a LONG time!  Oh, and you can talk Ironman all you want!  After all, you are one now!

Roni -  Best of luck and happy early birthday!  I love the goal of all the marathons.  It's such a cool idea!

As for this weekend, no racing because I will be spending the entire time moving to our new place in Fond du Lac!  Yuck.  I have most everything packed around our place now, but it just feels neverending.  My knee does NOT agree with all the moving stuff around, either.  I can't wait for it to be over!

The Slice is a nice bike.  Try them both out and pick the one you like the best.  When I get to work later I'll look at the fit chart on them and see if they are the same.

On my swim last weekend the wave before mine had a false start because the horn didn't work and then they set them off just as a big set of waves rolled in smashing them!

We lined up next as another set of waves came in and a surfer appeared in front of us, we all though they would delay our start but the horn went off and the poor ba$@*rd looked in horror as 122 guy's in speedo's charged out at him!!!

looks pretty cool. Kind of like the start of one of my races last year but we only had 650 people starting at once. I loved it. All those people thrashing around and trying to get position. There's always a little frustration when you are blocked by someone but overall I thought a huge rush.

Ugh, tough few days for me.  First, my work computer gets infected with a virus on Tuesday.  I need a system that has a number of validated programs on it so this is a real hassle for me.  Then yesterday, I got one year older.  If you ask my son; I'm 29.5.  Got to spend the day packing our house up and celebrated with a lobstah dinnah and cake.  I close on the 1st and move on the 8th. Cannot wait!

No racing for me.  We're heading to Cape Cod for the long weekend. My parents have a house there so we go nearly every weekend between Memorial Day and Labor Day.  I love it there.  It's a really nice training spot too; right next to the rail trail and on a lake so I'll be able to start OWS this weekend.  I've got a reminder set on my BB not to forget my new wetsuit. Other than training just hoping to hit the beach to get in a teeny bit of relaxing.

Suzy- Congrats on the house! Fingers crossed there are no hiccups from here on out.

Rob- Congrats on the job!  So exciting!

Good luck Sam, Tony and Drew!  Tony- I road raced a bit in high school and I had a similar experience my first race.  Got to learn it some time.

Happy Birthday Roni!  Enjoy your "training run this weekend".  ha!

Yeah, that picture of the washing machine makes my tummy flip.

Alright I'm here.

Congrats Rob on the new job. Great way to start a new career - training university girls.

Kyla - love the daughter stories.

Roni - the runnning machine. Just running the marathon as an easy training day? crazy running freak

John - you did an ironman? Seriously? when? Dude you can talk about it all you want. Love ALL the pictures.

George - I will step up my game. If not you can call me out like the Mets owner did.
