Here's a pic of both.  I'm looking for a pic of the P2 in race livery (race wheels, etc.), but this is the current stable in training setup.

Oh, and here's one of the cheerleaders, too.

Matt

Originally posted by JJ- Wow very tough day. I picked a gruling course to get my first century in. 4500 feet of elevation gain. Very hilly. Tough day but I stuck with it and got to 100. Pleased to get over that hurdle. A friend of mine took this as I was coming up the Beast at mile 90 photo b504ed33-59e4-4556-ab09-c3e71aaf2bc2_zpse09ddda8.jpg

YEAH!! And conquering a hill named 'Beast' = pure win!  Nice work!

I added it to the Manatee Bike Gallery

Congratulations!!!!!

Thanks--yes, I went with the Looks.  Based on nothing but gut instinct...  Comfortable...not so much yet.  I have sore parts  I tried several, but the Trek felt best.  My fitter spent time with me on 3 different days (after my sizing) finding the right bike.  Really good guy.

LOVE the invite, Yanti, you guys look so good together and the cat pic is cool.  Hopefully the dogs will forgive you.

I'm fairly certain I broke the middle toe on my left foot. Typical post stubbing pain would be gone by now. It's bruised, a bit swollen and hurts to walk or bend. Happened late yesterday, so I haven't been on it much. A friend said she'd write an Rx for an x-ray, but declined...feels silly to x-ray a toe. lol

After last week's crap training, I was planning to get back to my running. Seems that might not be happening

My questions if you've had this happen: how long til you felt ok to run? Did you just do more on bike? Tape it up?

New bikes, weddings, doggies, I love it! I can't keep up!

Broken toe .. no bueno. I dunno, I think I'd get an xray. What if it's broken in such a way that it won't heal properly on it's own? I admittedly don't know much about broken toes though.

I very sadly (more sad than I imagined) DNSed my 5K Saturday and opted for a more marathon specific run.

It was:

6 miles @ 7:38
10 miles @ 6:50 ( brought down to finish at 6:38

The last two were on the track with my coach watching. He gave me water and split time on the mile.

CD

Most of my marathoner- teammates were racing so I had to do it solo. It was probably the most difficult training session I have ever done and doing it solo compounded that. I'm glad I did it though.

I did think about that. Figured I'd mostly stay off of it and give til tomorrow to see if bruising/pain is lessening. Stubbed toes...I have much experience. Broken toes...none. And it seems so insignificant when there are nine others to pick up the slack!

Ummmm, so - you did the right thing by your A race training plan over the weekend, gutted out a tough workout that will pay dividends in both mental and physical adaptation AND got to be part of a proposal!

So, if you'd done the race, how would the above sentence read?

Just sayin'…

Matt

PS - I'm hoping the answer was "Yes," or doing the race and recovering after rather than going with your buds might have been the right call.

I could have taken that from the trainer!  Drives me nuts, if in a good way.  The chocolate always brings me a few dog toys and drops them juuuuuust out of range of taking a pedal in the head.

lol, the proposal run was on Sunday, not during that crazy-town M run. But yeah, you make a good point. Ugh. I just love to race I guess!

Also, if the answer would have been no, at least I would have had some really .... uhhhh... interesting photos!

Ouch!  Yeah, I think that toes are like ribs, when you break them, you just suffer through

Take care of yourself!

I just wanted to check and say Hi. I have been kind of keeping up with everything but it's normally at about 4am when I can't post coherent thoughts. Thanks for all of the inspires. Sorry but I don't have time to reply to them all individually so I thought I would do a quick update post.

The pups are doing great - except for one (who is very healthy) but likes to whine like for 2 hours straight, it's touch and go but he might not make it through another night . They are 2.5 weeks old now and getting really big. The biggest ones are just over 2kg (nearly 5#) and the littlest one is a bit under 1.5kg, she has just discovered that she likes food and so is catching up fast. They all have their eyes open now and are starting to walk rather than belly crawl. Thankfully now they are mostly going 6 hours between feeds so I have managed to get about 4 hours sleep straight for the last 2 nights.

Work has been flat out busy. I am actually on annual leave so shouldn't be working (don't tell DH) but the financial auditors are going through our annual financial report and want to know the ins and outs of everything (thank you GFC and new auditing standards in Australia). So most days I have been doing 4 or 5 hours of answering questions for them.

DH is still not very well, has major body aches and is exhausted most of the time, he has no energy or strength to do anything much at all and heads to bed really early. He went to a new Dr last week and has been having blood, urine and saliva tests to try and pin point what is wrong. He has a follow up appointment on Friday so hopefully that will give us some answers.

Have a great day everyone.

You win Stacey!  A pile of pups trumps a couple grown dogs on the picture-cute-o-meter!

As my daughter would say (if always somewhat mockingly - she's 11), "Totes adorbs."

Matt

PS - but when I look at my dogs, I see family members.
