Not sure if the pics are small enough but I will try.  They are on my facebook page and you can also check out one here:  http://picasaweb.google.com/ruffusrescue/RuffusRescueFebruary2009Adoptions#  We are the second on from the left.

From my blog:
I picked up Dali (final name so far) around 5:30 last night after my run.  Harriett (www.ruffusrescue.org/) mentioned that we may want to get a wire crate in case she isn't house broken yet and to provide her with a 'safe' haven.  So I discovered that Target does not sell them but the Petstore does.  They are very neat and collapasable.  I got a 30" one.

She had her puppy factory removed earlier in the day and they found out that she was pregant.  I can look at it two ways.  I choose to look at that I saved at least another 8 dogs because Dali would have potentially given birth at a kill shelter in North Ga and it would have been her death sentence earlier if they found out.  She was still drugged and her cute eyes were glazed over.  I had Boo's doggie pillow out and I took her onto the second floor and put her on the rug.  She looked around, walked over to the pillow, plopped down and was OUT!  It was pretty cute.  She sounds a bit like a squeaky toy when she snores.

After a bit of a nap, I took her out for a walk.  Its very interesting the things you learn with a new dog.  Case in point, with Boo you didn't have to watch the leash so much.  With Dali, her neck is about 5" from the ground, so she steps on her leash if you're not careful.  It's actually rather funny.  But the great news is that it looks like she is house broken!  She went #1 and #2 with no problems and sniffed her way around for a while.  She would get tired and then just sit down for a bit.  Rather humurous.  Then I realized that I don't think she has ever encountered stairs.  She just looked up them and didn't know what to do.  We went one at a time up them and she finally figured out the up part.  This morning was harder going down.  I picked her up and placed her about 2/3 of the way down the stairs.  She'll get it.

Finally, she has taken a liking to Nancy.  Nan walks in the room and Dali walks over and just gives her the "I'm so cute" stare.  Melts everyone around!  For the next couple of days, we are going to keep her in her crate while we are gone just in case.  This will also give the cat a chance to check the dog out on her terms.

She is a 2 yr old Beagle mix.  She was saved from a Shelter in Lumpkin county Ga which is a high kill shelter.  She is about 20# and has a cute stubby tail.

Congrats on the new baby!  She looks like a sweet dog.  I have a mixed beagle/dachsund names Bess.  She's a hoot.  Enjoy!

Congrats!

I can totally relate to the "never seeing stairs before" thing.  We adopted a retired greyhound 5 yrs ago.  He had never seen stairs before.  I had to teach this 80 pound dog how to go up and down.

Very very cute!  I currently live with an older, ailing Beagle named Coco.  When out on walks, her nose is ALWAYS on the ground.  One word of warning: when a Beagle gets a scent, hold on to the leash.  Tight.  Years ago, the first time I walked Coco I did not happen to see the bunny, and she nearly took my arm off.  She's lost a bit of pep now, but will still terrorize bunnies and kitties when she gets the smell.

I like how you "coolified" her name from Dolly to Dali. Clever.

She's adorable, and quite sweet looking.

Congratulations, Dancy!

You should celebrate over some Nancakes this weekend! Tongue out

Yah!! Congrats on the new addition!!

As already posted- definitely always keep a beagle mix on-leash. Their 'job' as they see it, is to show you where a scent goes, so in essence, they think it is perfectly OK to run away.

I know she will be a wonderful addition to the family, and with those adorable ears/eyes will bring lots of love and kisses your way!

Those eyes! Those ears! That nose! Thank you so much for rescuing her, and you give that gorgeous doggie a big kiss right on the snoot for me.

Congrats on the beagle.  You'll love her, although she'll try your patience at times!  This is my above-referenced Coco.

Bump because Dali is cute too.

Nothing against Molly.  The more rescued dogs the better.
