Most people get their first choice. If you haven't heard from your captain by next week, then send an email to Judy (stowersj at hotmail.com) and she'll get you in touch with your captain.

Just stumbled upon the idea of volunteering at IMAZ this year. Do you think its late to sign up for Aid stations or Gear Bags handling at the park?

I see some of you are captain as well so thought of checking before signing up. Thanks.

Thanks

It's never too late to volunteer. Last count I had was they still needed a lot.

I know I struggled to get run special needs filled the whole time.

Thanks, but lets hope you don't have to do that for anybody, because they're closing it down and sending everyone home at midnight.  Just sayin' because I'm pretty sure I'm the one who has to worry about that  :-)

Hey - just wanted everyone to know that I will be onsite for 18+ hours and will have a popup tent, cooler, chairs etc., to help support our Cool Kids / BT athletes and their friends and family. I'll set it up in the morning before the swim start so everyone knows where it is (we might even set it up Saturday assuming no winds to knock it over during the night).

I'll be bouncing around TTL hopefully getting some athlete pics and video, and then at 3 p.m. I'll head over to the finish line for 9+ hours of volunteering, with one shift of "catching" athletes and one shift of handing out medals/T-shirts (I'll be taking a bit of a break when Dean comes through!). Hopefully I'll get to see ALL of you finish!

A big +1 to the comments by Elliot and Chris.  When I made the decision to try this, a big factor in the 'pro' column was that I knew I would have a lot of friends there for support and encouragement - on the course, spectating, and volunteering.  I don't know that I would have chosen to take this on without knowing that I would be surrounded by so many friends throughout the day.

I will be at an aid station in the morning along the bike course. I plan on being there all day though so not sure where I'll be after my time at the aid station.

I'm looking forward to cheering everybody on on their way to IRONMAN!

I agree with all in that the support of ESCKTC and all our BT family makes this a very special race.  Thanks for those that are volunteering, cheering, and participating - IMAZ will be great this year!

Do all of the volunteers want to meet up at some point so we can concentrate our cowbell efforts?

I am slotted for the finish line, medal/t-shirts, from 730pm until the end.  I am hoping to have my camera with me if they allow it.

That will be wonderful and it will be so much fun to meet all you guys there. May be we should have out BT profile name printed and pinned on our t-shirts on the event day
