"Have My Sense of Humor Reconfigured: I will stop thinking that triathlons are bizarre and hilarious. I will instead start thinking that whatever triathletes think is funny is actually funny. Provided triathletes think anything is funny."

I thought this was this was hilarious. Does that mean I'm not really a triathlete?

Some of the comments are pretty good:

You’ll want to begin considering what sorts of delicious foods you want to put in your special needs bags. Even a big bento box can’t carry a full picnic, so you need to put the mid-bike pizza, frappucino, chips and queso, etc in your special needs bag, so you can refuel halfway through. Same for the run. Mmm. Mid-marathon pizza.

Don’t forget, that which is arodynamic, is hydrodynamic. You can swim with your tt helmet on! And a camel raceback!! As you can see(!!!) adding !’s makes things true!!!!(!).

does having people yell "on your left" at you repeatedly count as socializing?

Oh my gosh.... that was a horrid read.  It is a combination of Power Puff Girls, Sailor Moon, Care Bears and other unmentionables that my 4 year old watches on TV.  Nothing to say here, I hope heshe enjoys the event and is still TEEHEE ing with pinkies up and tea parties at mile 26 of the run.

I found his comments quite funny. I mean, now's a perfect chance to try triathlons, especially now that Timex has jumped in.

Sort of like what happened with Radio Shack. He opened his mouth, got his shot at the training camp, didn't progress far, but made a huge donation to LiveStrong because of it.

Sounds good.

Who wants to bet he does the same with this one?!?

I'm just laughing that they threw him into St.George as his first...

He is a fantastic writer, a good cyclist, and probably a mediocre triathlete. I am doing IMSG and will be happy to watch for him throughout the day. Eldon will do a good job, but I am in the camp that he will blow up after the bike. I hope Timex gets some good press out of it. .

I've sent emails to him and Twin Six looking for tri gear just because i'm a fan of their jerseys. Maybe now is a good time for them to start producing.

Basically he has 3months to learn how to swim, increase his run, and be able to do so after riding the 112. That's a tough nod. I mean, he's got some fitness with the biking and just completing a full mary, but still.

I'm pulling for him at least!

It'll be fun to track him throughout the day on the athlete tracker.

So, you think Timex bought him an entry slip considering it's sold out, or how do you think that worked?

Anne - Nice FC representation in the photo - very appropriate!

Thanks Bill, it's my favorite cycling jersey. One time I was flagged down by a Mary Kay consultant driving one of the pink Cadillacs, she thought it was an MK jersey.

lol, I love the suggestions for other "arbitrary" event combinations -- you could probably get a lot of participants for Bike-Football-Poker... and in certain parts of the country, Bike-Snowshoe-Line Dancing would go over pretty well too.

( If anyone's interested IRL in a combined poker/deep-sea fishing tournament: http://www.thefishandchips.com/ )

Timex is a sponsor. WTC has never made it a big secret that if a celebrity or other person a sponsor wants to see in the event; they'll be added, regardless of the fact that the field is currently "full". My guess is that this happens in almost every MDot race, and that in many, especially some of the bigger name races, it happens more than we'd think.
