bctri21 - 2010-10-04 1:44 PM I do not want a pair of these nut huggers, but was wondering what you all thought.  I saw a guy my age (28) wearing skinny jeans and promised myself I would never ever put a pair of those things on.  Should grown men be wearing skinny jeans?

We joined Equinox gym for the sole purpose of attending their "skinny jean" aerobics class.  Ok....not!  I regularly see men in skinny jeans in San Francisco.  No matter how skinny you are, you are a no-go in skinny jeans.

pleats, cuffs, lace up dress shoes, side vents, semi loose jeans = no fashion sense at all but I am ok with it.

absolutely must have a good tailor but there's no choice with the jeans.  My legs only fit in loose jeans.

my son was going to get some skinny jeans.  when he walked out of the dressing room I broke out laughing.  He hasn't brought it up since then.

I think skinny jeans would explode if I thought about putting them on.

Depends on the dude.  A punk or rocker dude in skinny jeans?  Sure.  A hipster?  Sure.

IMO, most men wear jeans that are much too loose.  I'm not saying you've got to wear the "nut huggers" (Tongue out), but fit is important...and makes guys look hot.

I totally agree that most guys wear jeans that are too loose. I am DYING for the baggy fad to end but...and I know I am going to start a sh#t storm with this statement.... I don't even like skinny jeans on women.

Wait, Wait, Don't tase me Bro! Just hear me out. My problem is with the legs. I think they make women's legs look like chicken legs, unless the women has super muscular calves (which I am sure many BT women do). I know skinny jeans are what's in style but I still prefer skintight, ultra-rise, flairs.

No one will ever mistake me for a fashionista and I am mosly OK with that.

Flat front are much more flattering.  Pleats make your business area look, uh, frumpy and, uh, FUPA-like. Most men do not realize this and continue to wear them.

Oh, so you're ok with the most classic, stylish, and must have men's dress shoe? Good to know.

There is a difference between "too tight" and "skinny jeans".   I prefer muscular legged men, so even the nicest best fitting skinny jeans on a guy will never interested me - because they only look good on thin/lanky dudes with flat butts.

Yeah, pleated pants are "out."  However, what's in fashion is normally geared toward 20-somethings and so older adults can tend towards more classic styles.  If the pleats fit, wear them.   My husband wears stuff like this and he looks like the well dressed suburban middle-aged handsome guy that he is.    This is fine for work, weddings, stuff like that.

I also like a well fitted straight leg/boot cut jean on a guy.   As long as the waist is up at the waist, you're good.

I think skinny jeans look cool on the right person. I wouldn’t wear them, but I’m a 40-year old straight guy with athletic quads. If I was a 26-year old barista/web designer, I’d wear them proudly, along with my ironic t-shirt and straw fedora.

Most guys make the mistake of wearing their clothes too big because they don’t want to look fat, but wearing poorly fitting clothes makes you look shapeless and dumpy.

Clothes that are the right size and well-tailored will accent the parts of you that look good while hiding or drawing attention away from the other places.

I don’t wear pleated pants anymore, but on the right person, and well-tailored, they can look ok. I think they’re a little ‘80’s, like big shoulder pads and big lapels. If you are, or work with people who care about stuff like that, flat fronts are better.

Tasseled loafers: unless your name is on the door of the office building where you work, I wouldn’t wear them. Lace ups are better.

I'm built the same way in the legs and most pants don't fit me properly unless they are loose fit.  Even the GAP easy fit don't work for my waist size anymore.

Much like everything else, if you want quality, you pay for it. I could go on a spiel for days about the construction processes behind that stuff, but I'll tell you this...I've worn many of those jeans for 6 months in a row. As in, 1 pair, wear it every day. Then it goes into a rotation with the others. I've bought 8 pairs of jeans from them in the past 4 years and every pair is still in amazing condition and I wear denim exclusively.

I probably shouldn't talk about the fact that I don't wash these things either. Well, at least between 150-200 wearings before they see the wash anyway. No, they don't smell.

I actually really like skinny jeans on dudes, but only if they have the '70s bell-bottom or at least a decent flare.

I don't know why, but I think it's because it was the style growing up, and I'm secretly still fond of it.

The jeans are fine, it's the deep-v's that have got to go. Just kidding, whatever floats your boat.

I really do like the jeans though. With your recommendation, I'd buy from your friends, but I can't buy jeans without trying them on.

Yes, but it's immediately unbalanced again by the manpurse messenger bag.

Actually, with that kind of pace rearview, you're pretty much forgiven any FASHION FOX PAWS in my book (I'm not sure there ARE any in my book to begin with, but I can't make admission that easy).

Having had a zipper incident in the past I have concluded that; you must always wear underwear, preferably with a bottom fly if not designed to prevent free ranging; you must always double check and; you must not wear tight jeans or any overly constraining outerwear.
