Whistler, B.C. About 2 1/2 hrs. N of Vancouver. It's also near where the 2010 Olympics took place.

Very, very cool!  I've done the zip-trekking tour in Whistler, but not the bungee jumping - looks like a lot of fun!

Do they offer the free option if you jump naked? Nanaimo does (or did).

Cool deal.

Why did they keep telling you to look up at the bridge? I would want to see the ground rushing towards me. I think.

Nice.

What did you use for a camera?

ETA: Why are bungee jump operators always Australian or Kiwi?

The camera is made by a company called GoPro. Here's their web site:

http://gopro.com/

I have an older version (Hero Wide) that I picked up on craigslist. I like the "wide" version because it reduces the image jitter than happens with shorter focal lengths.
It also records straight to .avi format as you don't need special software to view the results.
Also comes with a water tight housing that's good for 100+ feet. Therefore I plan to use it while in Maui next week for scuba.

Don't know why the bungee guys are Ausi/Kiwi but these guys were off the wall, full of energy, fun, crazy dudes!

Because I was tethered at the chest jumping backwards. If you change your focal direction it changes your balance and you could end up in an awkward position when the cord engages.

"IF" I ever do it again, I'll face forward and video the experience heading down.

Indeed!

Yaaaaaaaaaaay for you. I don't know why, but this really cheers me. You rock.

Ummm ... are your relatives perhaps so inclined? 'Cause we have a killer bungee (AJ Hackett, so top quality, and in fact run by a crazy Kiwi friend of mine) right on one of the most amazing beaches here ... jump at sunset ... feels like the entire world has never been more beautiful, and you are on top of it and own it, and then fall into its lap.

You were near Whistler right?  I discovered there really are no Canadians there.  Its the same thing at the ski resorts.

That was awesome.  About 10 years ago, I went off a 47m jump in Taupo, NZ.  They had a touch the water option.  Apparently, the group I was with convinced them to do the dunk me option.  Loved the jump, just didn't see the splash coming.

Thanks for the info.

I would really like a helmet cam(for following the kid on skis on on bikes). GoPro seems to be what's used more, but I really like the mounting options of the Contour, and now that you can stream the live feed to a droid or iphone via bluetooth. I think it's perfect.
