Good morning!  Good luck Sunday racers!

I am heading out for a 5 mile run in a few minutes.  I've enlisted the help of one of my trusty CC runners to become my Sunday pace buddy.  He's much faster than me (d-uh) and I'm hoping he can help me on my long runs.  Speaking of which...the siren song of the marathon is starting to play in my head...trying to decide if I should embrace that calling again or ignore it!

Have a great Sunday!

Swim time later today. I hope to go 2000 yds, which would be a personal best. I am still trying to lay down a base, but time is on my side. Possible bike ride today, but that depends on what else happens here in the house.

Teech, if you hear the siren song to run 26.2, then run you must!

I think I have a marathon siren permanently embedded in my brain ... or feet ... come to think of it, I might BE a marathon siren ... do it do it do it

1-hour ocean swim today. Saw some awesome fish, but got stung by jellies like I got bullwhipped, so I got out in a hurry.

30-minute ride (trainer) and 30-minute run.

25 mile bike ride this am.  5 miles from the end, a wasp decided to sting me in my lower abdomen and stay there.  By the time I was able to flick it out it had dumped a ton of toxin into me.  Needless to say, the last 5 miles were not fun. It's more than 2 hours later and I'm sitting on the couch applying ice to the area feeling sorry for myself Frown

Sunday funday indeed. I had an excellent 7.5 mile run this morning. Being my first month of full s/b/r training I dropped volume to each discipline to 3x a week. I was concerned my run would suffer but this is the longest I've run in a loooooong time and I feel wonderful.

Easy 6 mile run today. 2nd day out running since coming off the ankle injury. Felt good to get out and run again after a month and a half off from everything.

The endorphin junkie is back. I got my hit today and it was good!!

Great 8.15 mile run this morning, a real confidence booster.  Heading into to the pool to swim in a bit.

As for marathons, how about coming down to FL for the Disney Marathon in January?  18 week training plan starts tomorrow, perfect timing!

29 mile bike, 3 mile run brick.  Man was the wind strong today, I rode at least 5 miles right into a 20 mph headwind.  Not fun.

Sprint duathlon this morning. Jumped in at the last minute as I had planned to spend the day with my dad and his SO, and saw this event was 10 minutes from his house. It was great having them show up to see me race. I was out on the bike and saw him before he saw me, yelled DAD and boy did he jump!

Time was OK, had hoped to do a little better. 4 miles of running and 10 miles slightly hilly bike. Time 1:02:55. 35/178 overall, 6/13 AG. Bike was decent, second run was a bit slow. Lots of mileage this past week for an upcoming marathon caught up with me.

Afterwards there was a lot of mingling and they could not believe how friendly triathletes are. Everyone who walked past us stopped and said hi, 'good race', or ask if I had fun. I told him that's pretty normal, that people were high fiving each other as they finished and came back into the transition area. Then I cleaned up and we went to brunch. Pretty much as good as it gets!

60 mile ride this morning with big winds.  Headwind going north nearly stopped me completely at one point.  Coming back south was a lot of fun though.  8 mile run to finish out the day.  Over 18 hours training this week & I felt like I was slacking off.

WDW was my first half mary. As a Floridian I thought it was cold at the start, but the heat and humidity were right back to normal by the midway point. I think it got to about 65+ by the end. Previous year they had snow. Florida in January, you never know.

I had a nice 15.5 mile bike ride this afternoon. Only my second ride since surgery in July.

3.2 mile run. The last 1.5 I completed in 13 minutes. I'm pretty psyched about that pace, although I'm supposed to be running easy. Oh, well. Just reveals how painfully slow I am for the first mile or so.

Hoping to do some pilates later this evening. I am so happy to have the day off tomorrow! :-)

Time for a brick workout.  30 minute ride on the real bike (not the trainer this time!) followed by a 25 minute run.

Funny, I haven't heard that marathon siren song in many years!  Maybe it's the heat here, or the idea of starting long runs at 4 AM. Actually love to train for them in cool weather and pleasant locales, when the goal is just to finish. Racing them is a PITA. Anyhow, my Oly and marathon PR's are almost exactly the same, so I just count my Olys. as marathons. But good luck if you heed it.

2 hour bike ride and 40 minute run for me. First five minutes of run at "race pace"--probably not a very good race! Bike was supposed to be shorter but ran into buddies and did a few extra cooldown laps of the industrial park to catch up on gossip. Short expedition downtown to look for duct tape for tri next week. Easy sunset swim to cool off after melting downtown.
