Gooooood morning BT!

4:15am:  35 minute hill session on the treadmill.  Busy with Homecoming crap, uh, I mean activites, after school so no hill running with my CC team today.
5:00am:  Insanity Max Plyo Circuit...the suckiest of them all.  So dang hard, but I survived!

Feeling foggy, headachey, sore throaty the last few days.  Don't know if I'm getting sick or if it's allergies.  I just know I don't like it!

Have a great Wednesday!

AM: 45 min treadmill run.  Fast pacing.  15 sec on, 15 sec off (literally) alternating for 12 min total.  Started at 10 mph (it's early morning) and worked my way up to 13.  Idea was to get used to running faster without the load that intervals or tempos bring.  Treadmill strides?

PM: Swim.  Warm-up and threshold pyramid if I haven't overdone things the past few days.  400 yd repeats otherwise.  2 miles total swimming at least.  More if I feel up to it.  Pool was closed yesterday.

My allergies are totally wrecking me this week.

Monday: Short mountain bike ride. I was so out of it, I fell off and 18" wide bridge for no apparent reason. Luckily I slipped off back wheel first so I was able to dab and not go tumbling into the creek. I called it quits after that. No point in risking another stupid fall. I got an hour in total.

Yesterday: I wasn't as dizzy and out of it so I was able to ride longer, but still feeling like crap. Did an hour and half. Got distracted by my phone and slipped off a really skinny log ride and trashed my brake rotor. The perks of my job are that I can sneak in mid day rides. The con is that I have to carry and answer my phone so no one knows I'm sneaking in a mid day ride.

Today: If I can straighten my rotor enough to ride, I'll ride this morning. Otherwise I'll go for a run when I get home this evening.

Will rise from the ashes today and begin anew my training program.  Good news is that I no longer need chemical cocktails.

Hope you feel better, Kim and Dave!

1:15, about 3000m+ ... in 2m surf and swell. It was *awesome*. Bodysurfed a tumbler back in.

:45 sunset run along the cliffs. Exquisite.

All in all, a most choice training day.

Endless monsoon showers here. Even one of my students said, "I sure hope it's not a running day!" (They kind of know my plans by now.) Fortunately it was the one dedicated "bike day" so nice sweaty 60 min ride at the gym. 10 minute warm-up, 20 X 1 minute at 100%/1 minute recovery, 10 minute cooldown. Tried very hard not to cuss on hard part. I think I have one of the world's highest sweat volume to weight ratios.  25 minutes of strength/core and feeding delusion that I'm getting muscular.

Sounds like a bunch of people not feeling well. Feel better soon.

Last nights swim was not a quality training experience. I just could not get into any semble of a groove. Coupled with the phone call from my FIL when we got home from the pool, and the night was just a complete bummer.

Luckily, my training does not have a hard coded plan, so today is a rest day. The advantage of flexibility... And I can get back after it tomorrow since I am burning PTO time the next two days.

I hope everyone enjoys doing the Humpty Dance!

"The Humpty dance is yo' chance to do the hump"

Ran 9x400 on the treadmill today. Pace laps at 8:34 with recovery laps at 10:34. Legs and lungs felt really good. I was able to maintain good form throughout and not look like a murderer was chasing me.

Hope all of you down with the sickness feel better real soon.

RE the flexible plan. Mine sure are.....I write them myself, with guidance from various books, websites, channeled spirits of coaches past, my own creativity, etc.  But switching can be kind of inconvenient because I bring workout clothes to school and start from there for swim and bike. (The kids know as they are different bags. If no bag, then it's either rest or a run day since I run from home.)

I will admit that chemo is a fabulous weight loss program but I won't reccomend it as a first resort.

I'm here. Crazy busy day at work, so I haven't done anything yet, and I've been eating like crazy. I need to run home and get dinner and then do all of the mommy stuff. I will try to get a run in before a 10:00 p.m. SGA meeting. Yes, I will be coming back to work at 10:00 p.m. Gotta love college students.

I hope everyone else has had a more productive day than I have.

Managed to get the 2,000 yd ladder in.  Felt rather distracted in warm-up, but once the main set it, could be one of my better swims yet.

Very long work day, and I'm pooped. Managed to get a rather good 9 mile run in between work and a late dinner.
