Apparently fairly still on the bike course with only little wind, which is great. I'm on my bike with her!

16:30 in transition and she's on the bike. Flat for the first 30k then up into the mountains.

For those of you that know what sort of overall bike split would she be looking for?

I'm thinking around 9 hours as that would leave her 6.5 hours todo transition and complete the run wouldn't it, or is my math way wrong there?

By my calculations she's been on the bike for about 30 minutes. Hopefully settled in to a nice easy pace, and enjoying the flat before the mountains.

GO YANTI!

I'm back from the "swim" with her. I did 2,000 even though I only had the last 800. It was fun to think about somebody else swimming along with me. It looks like she (we) swan 10 minutes faster than her IM New Zealand effort. Woo Hoo!

As for the bike, she was holding about 21 km/hour at New Zealand, so that would be about 8:35 split.

It's all about the Bike! All you virtual pacers keep her going!

So an 8.5hour bike would have her hitting transition at about 4:15pm Japan time. Is that right?
Start at 6:15am, 1.5 hours for swim and transition makes it 7:45am, then 8.5 for bike would make it 4:15pm

I agree. It was good to think about someone else while I was on the bike too. I did an hour even though I only had 10k.

I hope that it isn't as cold and windy in Japan as it is here.

GO YANTI!

I was hoping the tracking would have multiple bike splits like several other races I've followed but it looks like we're in a mystery zone with no mid-leg splits.

At least you guys can go to bed and sleep. I get to spend the day wondering where she's at and how she's going.

I wish! I still have to figure out when my "shift" starts! I'm hoping to take my cues from Janyne. I think she's right before me.

I'm not quite half way into my IM training. I just raced a sprint and on Monday I woke up and felt like I'd been drugged! Not sore, just incredibly fatigued.

It makes no sense to train hard for a year to hone that aerobic system only to have all that training undermined by a few anaerobic bursts on race day. So, how do you go about it?
