Best of luck to you Daniel.

I, too, am in recovery mode though mine adventure was a little more involved. Just got the go-ahead in Nov to start light training on bike and simple strength exercises. Was doing good but pushed too hard and caught a cold that set me back to Sept pain levels. Point is - ease into it. I should be able to start again next week on the bike. Feed tube prevents swimming and I'm not ready for running especially when outside temps are in the low teens.

Again, best of luck to you.

I use benadryl to sleep. Have for about 25 years now.

I did find that Walgreen's Aloe with lidocaine spray is Heaven sent for those itches. It all goes away without using anything that any of my Docs minds me using on the incisions

Ever try the Benadryl spray? Works for me and doesn't knock you out.

Sounds great Dan. You picked a good time of year. I knew my whole Summer would be shot. You will be ready to go come Spring. So if it isn't too personal.... do you have any other treatment, or are you done?

I've got a PET scan in Jan to make sure but kidney cancer tends to be contained inside the kidney and once it's gone, it's gone.

Well, those longer rides then started to hurt the next day so I took a week off and started back at 10-15 minutes, working back up.

Did half a Spinervals Saturday. Yeah, that's about 30 minutes but if anyone's curious whether Spinervals, Sufferfest, CTS, and similar are different than just peddling, they are. Hands down they're a buttload harder on the body.

But, no incisions arguing with me. No pain, no pulling.

I figured if I went ahead and started over again now it would save a bunch of time and pain later rather than pushing it now and having to take a month off later to get re-healed.

This takes a while

Found out that the wife of one of my high school teachers (and someone that was very supportive during my annoying little fight with it), ended up getting a pretty bad form AND is not reacting well to chemo and can't do it anymore.  Probably only has 12-24 months now without treatment...  Just sucks.

Personally, my blood work looks good per the doc and I have another test next Monday to keep tabs.  Two years clear so far...

"No definite evidence of residual or metastatic renal cell carcinoma"

clean of cancer says the PET scan. Have to get CT scans every 3 months for a while but nothing further unless something changes.

WOOHOO!
I do believe I've got a bit of a ride to do on the rollers.
